It shows how easily the feeble-minded can be lead by something like Facebook or Youtube. It's like the Jedi mind trick but much more effective. Something needs to be done, Biden needs to hurry up and abolish section 230. People will scream "free speech" but in the end if what you are saying is true, evidence based and accurate then you'll have no problems with free speech. SB

That bit got me too - astonishing - does he think Covid will back off him because of his exemption? And he'll take his possible infection all over the place too most likely. dangerous fool.

There really are some incredibly stupid people. on 12:10 - Jan 27 with 1485 views | Darth_Koont | Christ. That’s desperately sad. People may say that it’s an isolated incident but this is the tip of the idiotberg. The clown in question didn’t make up those theories himself and hundreds of thousands like him are breaking Covid regulations at will with this mentality.

There really are some incredibly stupid people. on 13:22 - Jan 27 with 1293 views | Giant_Midget | Goodness, there is a lot to unpack in this! The most worrying thing is that the patient seems to believe this rubbish. I do hope that while on the ward these people didn't get it, because you can guarantee they would be out and about spreading it. I fully expect the covid denial community, who have been sighting empty hospital corridors as evidence of covid not existing, will be using this video as evidence that doctors are all conspiring to hold people against their will or to kill them. Unfortunately there are a lot of bored and impressionable people about at the moment.

Because it is being pushed by people with significant followings on Social Media. And as we've seen with Trump supporters, they'll believe anything if the right person says it.

Playing devil's avocado here, and my thoughts are pretty clear above, but what if this man's wish is to die at home and not in hospital? Can medical staff really deny him that, or what is the family's recourse to getting him home if that is his wish? I don't know the ins and outs of such things but surely there must be some right to personal choice, even if it is fookin daft? [Post edited 27 Jan 2021 13:41]

That's a different conversation though - they are saying it's fake, Dr is saying he will die which they don't believe to be the case. My wife's Grandad recovered from Covid but ended up on end of life care in the hospital, once they no longer have it then surely option to effectively die at home - but can't let infected people out to just die of covid

If he was of sound mind, and was physically capable he could discharge himself. I doubt he is any of those things. Without going into too much detail, we had a situation with my wife's treatment last year where we were being given conflicting advice by consultants at different hospitals and we discharged her from one to have what we knew was the better treatment at another. All after she was transferred to a hospital under false pretences. The consultant in London actually bullied us with his language to say she could die if she left in his view, but the other was saying she wouldn't and the treatment plan at the specialist hospital would be better for her (and it was). I hope we are fairly with it and fairly well read and have friends in the medical profession we can call upon who understand this better than us too. It's a horrible situation and these people are clearly morons, but these decisions and discussions are quite common

You see it a lot in US hopsitals when watching those sort of programmes - but not particularly surpising that some hospitals offer better specialist treatments in certain areas so shouldn't come as a surprise, and glad worked out well for you and Mrs G. This is just inane though, covid is covid and everyone will be doing the same treatments, facility allowing

Maybe there is more to this story than I'm aware of but, It appears to me that by denying the patient the opportunity to go home and die, the doctor is ensuring he stays in hospital and has a fighting chance of survival. I expect a death at home with a few vitamins in his system is probably not going to be a comfortable death.

Quite. The doctor is doing his utmost to uphold his duty of care. And these ****s are screaming "listen, no listen." It's surreal to watch inasmuch as it's hard to believe anyone is this effing stupid.
