I read it as the whole £13 billion.

It's very disappointing then.

I honestly think if we get 1% of that $700m for the playing staff this Summer we've done well but I could be wrong . One other problem being , not many League 1 players go for much more than £500k to be honest. Then again with 7-8 players we need there's £4m already , add wages and admin - there's the 1%

I don't want to see alot of big money moves, which I still doubt we would get in league 1 anyway, but i'd hope the money would enable us not to lose out on players who get offered 10% more for example. But I worry if we start getting above ourselves and we start seeing £2 mill Lee Martins coming in.

Mine are firmly on the ground too, I'll believe 700m investment into ITFC when I see it.

It's pure guess work, but I would imagine they'll invest what they think they need to this summer to make us competitive next year, but it won't be silly. It'll mostly be paying attractive L1 wages to freebies I imagine and Cook building out his squad here. They'll no doubt be happy to suck up a loss, as Evans was, but as with anything the more ST's we sell the bigger the pot for Cook I would imagine.

It's once we're in the Championship that things will be interesting, as they could then turn the taps on to give us a shot of the riches of the PL. If that, by some miracle, is this summer, then their fresh enthusiasm for it coupled with what would have been an enjoyable couple of months for us all would make things really juicy. That's why the next 7 (+3 perhaps) games could be so vital. Not a disaster if we don't go up, but I really do think it could be one hell of a summer of activity if we managed it.

Exactly this I feel . Once in the Champ it could be a totally different animal but still relatively conservative .They're hear as an investment opportunity and will be investing wisely I'm sure

Surely if we had that much to play with we could just launch a hostile takeover of Chelsea and amalgamate the two clubs.

Very much in line with what Mike O'Leary said on Wednesday: "We’ve got funding that we think is pretty good and we will take it in a step-wise appropriate manner.

"We know what we think we need to do to be able to get from where we are to the Championship, and we know pretty much what we need to do if we’re going to go a step beyond that and try and get to the Premier League."

Singing Blue is the Colour wouldn't feel right knowing it was theirs first.

And 'Chelswich, Chelswich get that ball' doesn't quite have a ring to it.

They'll have to adapt to Singing the Blues I guess.

Or maybe Ebenezer Braaan in a faux cockney accent.

Indeed, also worth noting that it would be counter productive to come out and say we have X as a warchest as when it comes to negotiations in the summer people might start demanding vastly over inflated salaries.

Chelswich is great! One of those team names that Melchester Rovers used to play like Bradpool, Exogate Harriers or Everport Wanderers.

All funds have assets stored in various forms. That will include cash, equities, corporate bonds and government bonds. It's simply a way of both diversifying the risk of the portfolio and having funds available with different levels of access.

It's probably contractual to the funds they manage the people for that a certain percentage needs to be kept in cash as a "risk-free" asset.

There is no way that 700m or anything like it will be spent on ITFC.

As long there is enough to propel the club forwards, team and infrastructure, rather than cash starvation of the past years I’ll settle for that.

I would suggest that as it is a pension fund it will have pensions to pay on a regular basis and so will hold funds to meet those liabilities, rather than having to liquidate long term investments as money is needed.

I would suggest that the figures were quoted merely as a means to suggest that whatever is loaned to our new owners is not going to be needed back at short notice.
