Not popular on here, but lets focus purely on football rather than loyalties, what more has Bamford got to do to get in that squad? |
He misses a lot of chances, like Werner he works hard and has scored goals - but nowhere near as many as he should have done.
I would have had Ings in as the 3rd choice striker, ahead of the likes of Bamford, Watkins and Wilson. |  |

Foden, Grealish, Henderson, Mount, Phillips, Rice, Ward-Prowse
Calvert-Lewin, Greenwood, Kane, Rashford, Saka, Sancho, Sterling
Which would leave out Johnstone, Alexander-Arnold, White, Godfrey, Bellingham, Lingard and Watkins. Saying that, Henderson may not be deemed fit enough which could open the door open for someone. And Saka is a punt because of his flexibility but someone could easily take his spot. |
Bellingham has to be in because of the injury doubts over Henderson and Phillips (and he is quality)
I guess that would mean one of Greenwood or Saka to miss out - or James as we don't really need 3 right backs | |

What formation do we play these days btw? I'd have had TAA down as the best English right-back, surprised there's any question mark over him. Also would have had Bamford ahead of Watkins. |
They play a more defensive 3-4-3 with wing backs and sometimes a more attacking 4-3-3.
The defensive 3-4-3 is usually something like:
Pickford; Walker, Maguire, Stones; Chilwell, Phillips, Henderson, Trippier; Sterling, Kane, Mount.
The more attacking 4-3-3 is more like:
Pickford; Walker, Maguire, Stones, Chilwell; Phillips, Henderson, Foden; Sterling, Kane, Mount. |  |

I think the injury doubts to Henderson and Phillips will mean Ward-Prowse will be picked as extra cover. Saka can cover many positions which I veered towards him being favoured; same to an extent with James as he’s been part of a back three, back four and wing back. | |

Since all these strikers are Plan B presumably at least part of the consideration is what they might need if they decide to mix it up late on? Calvert-Lewin and Watkins are 1 and 2 for English strikers winning aerial duels. | |

South gate needs the extra 7 to be part of the training sessions while other are with their clubs for the two European club finals.
Barring injury I’m sure he knows who will make the final squad. He probably also knows which of the squad, assuming no injuries once competition starts, are only along for the ride and won’t get any pitch time. |  |

Rice will start - he's close to the first name on the team sheet at the moment.
I think Mount will start as the more attacking midfielder, then the questions are just over the full backs (I think you're right) and the wide forwards - Sterling and Rashford had the shirts, but Foden, Grealish and Sancho are all making very good claims for a place.
The 1st friendly we have before the tournament will give those not in Euro finals the chance to stake their claim to a place in the team, I'd guess we'll play something like:

Heard that myself on the radio myself earlier so just checked . Same shooting accuracy at 44% but Kane's stats far outweigh Bamford's - perhaps due to playing alongside other quality strikers no doubt though |  |

I watch so little Premier League football these days that I have to say, looking at that list, some names I don't even know, some I recognise the names but certainly couldn't tell you which clubs they're at, and there's only a handful I could pick out in an identity parade.

I think we have enough good defenders to keep all but the best out, having said that I stick by my theory that other than Stones the best English central halves don’t get a look in for England; Mee Tarkovski Dunk Webster Tomouri Creswell (played left side CB a bit recently) and Dawson. |  |

I watch so little of Premier League football nowadays that i don't know who Ben White and Ben Godfrey are, and although i've read about him, i've never seen Jude Bellingham play. Also it's a shame our best goalkeeper is injured, i can't see us winning a tournament with Pickford in goal. |  |
