Not fussed either way really, just a reminder that clubs who a decade or so ago were struggling to keep in the football league are now miles ahead of us. Hopefully a good game though!

They were my closest team to where I grew up and I still have a Brentford tie that my uncle gave me, it's in a terrible state after 45 years since when I was given it but I just can't throw it.
Come on Brentford - and the girl in the green dress.

“Hello, I'm your MP. Actually I'm not. I'm your candidate. Gosh.”
Boris Johnson canvassing in Henley, 2005.
Yes, I think so after steady season-on-season improvement for a number of years and falling just short on more than one occasion.
Swansea have stuttered a bit in recent years and are just a bit meh now, although for years they were a model of how to run a club sustainably between changes of managers.
Cool penalty from Toney, perfectly placed in the corner. Deserved n the first few minutes too, only one side have got going yet.
Trying to be. Won't be popular but they've gone a bit Brighton IMO where it's hard to support them. Although I suppose that happens to every club. I'm sure we'd soon forget the sh1t years if we had some success.
Also Beesotted were decent people so yea, Brentford. Just.

They right now, & us right now, are the ultimate reminders that in English professional football, things really *are* cyclical!
Sure, why not. Give them a crack of the whip in the Prem. Swansea a pretty boring team these days and would be good to see Brentford's plan come to eventual fruition.
The game later? Who gives a feck?!

Hot take: Brentford are the new Plucky Little Bournemouth.
That’s not a hot take, they’ve had the gamesmanship for years. They’ve not gone up on the back of a whole load of dodgy money though as much as astute trading of players.

The gamesmanship or cheating, to give it the proper name, does remind me of plucky little Bournemouth.
Watching Toney, it’s easy to see why he’s done so well in the championship. It’ll be interesting to see if he is able to step up to PL level now.

As they finished 7 points clear in third place it's totally deserved. Have always thought that the playoffs sometimes make a mockery of a seasons hard work.

Certainly does if you are the team that finishes 3rd by a distance, but I suppose all the sides know the rules before the season starts. Fully deserved for The Bees, can they survive in the EPL though?

Something I thought of is when Swansea went up they were a similar team to Brentford then after a few years in the prem became boring.
I reckon Brentford will have enough about them to not be relegated and then a few years later they'll be the boring side.
Listened to last half hour or so in the car, cranked the stereo up almost as loud as it would go when the Brentford fans were singing along to hey jude. Massive goosebumps with the sound of a crowd... here's to being able to go to games again in August, oh an the manager Cooking up a championship winning season...
Have sent a few messages to former colleagues to read when they sober up - well done the bees!
Blimey, 48 years supporting the Bee's and we have mainly been rubbish, years of league 2 and league 1, had given up all hope of even getting into the championship let alone the PL, you don't follow the Bee's for glory just a faint bit of hope, so look happy, I don't care if it's only for one year, if you are a Bee today is very special
