Cities with a large population (250k-500k +) 12:48 - Jun 14 with 5981 viewsThisIsMyUsername

which still feel very spacious/relaxed/friendly. No upper limit to population size. Bonus if in easy reach of picturesque scenery and nature. Answers on a postcard please.

Strasbourg is great and very underrated in my opinion, the Rhine runs nearby and you can see the Voges mountains in the distance.

Don't think there has been any riots in Copenhagen for quite some time and Christiania is pretty timid really.

It's also got some nice places just outside, the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art is fabulous.
