And regards your other rant, there is a significant difference between someone's ethnicity and their decision not to be vaccinated. In fact in law there's a distinction between the kind of protected characteristics you are straw manning with, whereby discrimination on the basis of those characteristics is illegal, and other characteristics of individuals, such as their choice not to be vaccinated. As we're creating ridiculous straw men, if I was to say that rapists were scum would you be complaining that I am discriminating against rapists and suggesting that my bias against rapists is akin to racism or religious discrimination? The continual comparison of those who choose not to vaccinate with racial or religious groups is a false equivalence. Any restrictions which may be faced are entirely down to their own decision not to take a vaccine, one which not only impacts upon their own safety but that of others. And not just due to Covid itself but other health issues with hospitals unnecessarily filled to the rafters. There is no comparison with the examples you cite. |

Personally, I would say there comes a point where one stops trying to persuade people to get vaccinated. Some are just not going to do it.
The direction of travel in govt responses around the world is to open up / stop locking down, so basically the unvaccinated will no longer be protected by lockdown. They will then have a choice: eventually catch it and risk get seriously ill / die or get the jab. [Post edited 5 Jan 2022 11:23]

If we look at the historical data for flu, we see that the year before Covid there were a total of 1,223 deaths in the UK from flu in 2019.
The reported deaths yesterday was 334. Even if we were to account for reporting differences and variant differences I think it's fair to say that Covid is still going to be way more lethal than the flu. |  |
