...to acknowledge the achievements of Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson.

1. Managing to be the most embarrassing PM the country has ever seen. Yo might not think this is an achievement, but remember that one of his predecessors shagged a dead pig.

Certainly part of it. The misrepresentation of Momentum as basically the new Militant was both ridiculous and ignorant. It is/was a grassroots campaigning movement for progressive values – and a very effective one too when it wasn’t being lied about.

They did more than enough on their own to embed that and damage the whole left through their out of touch 6th form posturing. Combine that with Kim Jong Geography teacher being determined to lose and you get the door opened to these scumbags in power.

Corbyn has done far too much damage via the proxy of those lot to really matter who carries most of the blame.

There’s a strong whiff of it throughout this thread which shows a Johsonite ability to never accept reality.

Not sure why you are starting all of this nonsense again footers. Maybe you just can't help yourself.

Yesterday you basically accused me of being a liar when I said I no longer vote Tory and can't see myself voting for them anytime soon.

I thought we had agreed a couple of months ago to agree to disagree and attempt to be civil with each other. I'm not aware that I have done anything to deviate from that agreement. Not sure why you have decided to do so.

Pretty pathetic and unevidenced stuff, Mullers.

You’re not alone. Sadly becoming the norm from supposedly smart and balanced people who nevertheless swallow any accusation and misrepresentation unthinkingly and certainly without asking for facts.

How is a massive Tory majority and the campaign that ushered it in unevidenced (sic) exactly? The idea as a Labour voter I am unthinking because I come to such an uncomfortable conclusion is merely demonstrating the point.

Clinging to the media lied boohoo while being completely blind to the damage this righteous snobbery and alienating posturing of his most zealous attack cardigans is precisely why he lost so badly.

He was a disaster. The Paul Cook of the Labour Party.

I just find you a very disingenuous person and think your tribal politics is still as clear as day. Even today you had to mention that Mosley was the first Tory to defect to Labour - wonder why you needed to include that historical tidbit.

And it's also fairly noticeable that you and your friend gang up on Koonters whenever the opportunity arises. It's pretty obvious when you attempt to poke and bait him, knowing he'll respond.

I'm happy to be civil but that doesn't mean I can't point out things that are glaringly obvious.

You didn’t explain anything, just blamed them for the result.

I’ll give them credit for their commitment to their primary objective which was to get Corbyn and Labour elected. But that’s exactly why they had to be maligned and smeared at the same time..

I’d be more likely to blame people like you that buy this stuff wholesale then resell it.

Well of course you would. Pragmatism and taking responsibility for how you carry yourself is very unCorbyn.

There’s been little accurate or correct in your politicking for years now. Yet you parrot this line and accuse me of swallowing narratives……

Well, I’ve been talking about democratic deficit and our slide right since 2014 and the Scottish Independence debate. And how underlying issues are being ignored by politicians and the political media.

I think I’m doing OK on the accuracy front.

really you think dk only posts his obsessive stream of nonsense because he's being baited? have you seen the volume of it? i've engaged with him a bit in the last couple of days - but weeks went by when i didn't. that didn't slow down his output in the slightest. he never misses a chance to post that anti-semitism is exaggerated and weaponised or to attack starmer and the centre left. he does that all off his own back with no prompting from anyone else. i'm not sure he needs you to hold his coat.

He was voted in by a majority of Labour members. And his policies were popular with the electorate on their own merits.

How Corbyn was subsequently treated is a symptom of the failure in our democracy, party political system and political coverage. Failure that led to Brexit, is leading towards the possible breakup of the UK, led to Boris, Patel et al and a whole host of social and economic issues being swept under the carpet.

But more and more I’m coming round to the idea that we’re collectively getting what we deserve.

I would like to see an option at general elections for 'none of the above' then if its gets enough votes.the queen abolishes parliament and rules directly.

er...Because it was a historical tidbit. Steve M and I were discussing the latest Tory to Labour defection and were trying to remember the last bloke. I looked it up and the same article noted that Mosley was the first. I' a bit of a political anorak and I find these things interesting.Sorry if Mosley's defection embarrases you.

'It's pretty obvious when you attempt to poke and bait him, knowing he'll respond'.

No. I pull him up when he defends, repeats or agrees with antisemitic tropes. He was doing it just a couple of days ago regarding Starmer being 'completely controlled by the Israel lobby.

Perhaps you have a lower tolerance threshold for certain types of racism. Because I'm pretty sure you were part of a three pronged daily, sometimes multiple times a day, campaign of baiting and poking a certain poster who had shamefully defended racism and homophobia. This to the extent that all three of you took a long break from the board, which resulted in a period of relative harmony on the board. Rather hypocritical imo dear boy. You've never once pulled Koonters for his views, despite a number of left ewing posters doing so.

Anyway. We've both had our say. I shall continue to engage with you in a civil and polite manner, whether this is reciprocated or not

The SWP? I just want social democracy.

So Starmer is presented as building a broad coalition despite the evidence. And Corbyn was accused of focusing on his own narrow interests again despite the evidence.

Be honest, lowhouse, because I know this is your politics when you express yourself on almost any issue. You just want the Labour Party to move right and abandon the left, don’t you? That’s basically what you’ve been fighting for all along.

Me, I want them to abandon the right and move left like any nominally left alternative does in a civilized, healthy, happy and balanced democracy and economy. Which is everything we’re not nowadays as a result.

As long as the unevidenced accusations continue then there’s little hope for that. And it’s a shame because the level of debate always drops massively as a result.

I’m not helping by biting back, of course. But I don’t see why I shouldn’t defend myself or my views that are hardly extreme or me refusing to deal with facts.
