Jan Pulsford, a producer of the Spirit of Woodbridge Festival, said Mr Keane’s perception of the town may have been coloured by the fact he was having a bad time in his managerial career.
She said: “It is a lovely place to visit. All visitors are welcome, but it is also the most lovely place to live as so many people are finding out who have moved here. Perhaps he was having a bad time while he was living here.”

The thing that often gets forgotten in the whole Norwich v Ipswich debate (which Norwich as a place wins hands down) is that Norfolk has sheeiteholes like Dereham, Fakenham, Caister, King's Lynn and Wroxham while we have Southwold, Aldeburgh., Woodbridge, Lavenham, Bury St Edmunds, Framlingham, Orford etc.

No it doesn’t. Yarmouth is far worse. It was a dump in the 70s and is worse now. As Yarmouth is my mother’s home town, I’m qualified to abuse it!
As for Woodbridge, it’s pretty, but I find it sort of cramped with lots of dinky little shops. I’m not a big fan. Down by the river is lovely. My dad’s brother lives there, so I know it pretty well.
