It’s a natural reaction, agreed. I understand it. But it’s a pretty pointless reaction. When Cook called out the players publicly last season, I thought it stupid. Same when players do it. However justified, it serves no purpose. Say what you have to say to their faces and leave it there is the best way in my view.

Why would you lower yourself to this?

Who cares? Cook is history and Woolfenden is part of defence keeping clean sheets.

I understand LW need to take a swipe at the previous manager. But let’s not forget he was often a car crash 8n defence too, gifting soft goals to opponents when we often had the upper hand. He was a mistake waiting to happen in a lot of games.

He has improved in recent months under the new regime… but maybe he’s just finally starting to take his job / career / himself more seriously? I recall his interview where he was talking about himself, Downes and Dozzell emergence into the senior squad . He was almost proud of his laid back approach and attitude to life (in comparison to Downes he said, he knew what he wanted at that point in time and had a lot more drive to achieve it). Maybe Woolfie has seen what the other two have gone on to do in the game and has decided to concentrate more, or maybe he’s just a slow developer? He has most certainly improved with Edmundson alongside him, and hopefully the better coaching and change in style of play at the club he will continue to develop further. We shall know if that is the case if Clubs from higher up the pyramid start sniffing around. But he’s definitely a different prospect now to just a season ago .

Take nothing away from Woolfy and the rest of the defence. But, imo, Christian Walton is a massive reason, why they are all, a whole lot more comfortable..... Walton has a reassuring presence.. So pleased we got him on a permanent .. And great to see Woolfy, developing into a quality first team regular....

No, it is not human nature to post negative comments on social media.

In private, fair comment.

No need to demean yourself in this way.

He hasn't posted negative comments on social media.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Irrelevant to this discussion about Woolfie..

It's as relevant as it is possible for something to be!

Especially when the comment they were replying to was

"No comment on whether this is deserved or not.

No need to do it publicly,.

You cannot come out of this looking well."

Or perhaps they didn't notice Cook's very public repeated critical comments of players (not through a single Twitter like either).

Maybe his Nan lives in Solihull and he's always had a bit of a soft spot for the Moors?

No defender is a one man defence. They all need players around them that fit their style. Fullbacks that can both attack and defend. Usually someone who's a rock and someone who has a bit of class and can run the ball out of defence. Chambers was never any good without someone decent beside and covering him. What McKenna has done is organised the defence and backed it up with a goalie that gives them confidence.

Although to be fair, Woolfie has looked great in a three. And he’s got Donacien and Edmundson mopping up a lot of the threat too. It’s a really effective unit.

It’s also a system that highlights his strengths rather than his weaknesses. Would I have chosen him in a CB pair in the autumn? Probably not.

But hopefully that’s now a possibility with his growing confidence.

Sorry daveU. I meant to say we should play Boris alongside Woolfie as a pair.

Won’t happen again.

Maybe he just needed some quality coaching!

He’s been like it since came into the senior set up - do you saying Klug , Dyer etc are not good coaches ?

He’s undoubtedly benefitted from the bed coaching methods : ALL the players have . But I suspect Woolfie has also grown up a bit … developing player development at different rates . Not sure it’s always “ someone’s fault “… but that seems to be some Town fans perception on most things . The blame game is very high at this clubs fan base . Maybe something to do with 20 years of Groundhog Day after administration?

Looks a proper Rolls Royce out there at the moment, reading the game so well and quick with it as well

Well to be fair he was crap earlier in the season under Cook wasn't he... far too casual and he gifted the opposition a goal with lax play.. but that goes against the narrative that Cook was terrible.. seem to remember there was a game he played a blind back pass? Pretty sure Cook never told him to go out there and do that did he?! Things like that cost us in the early part of the season
