Celina or Twine......with the following conditions 14:08 - Jun 14 with 7584 views | itfcjoe | Celina - one year loan, total cost - approx £800k to £1m. No resale at end obviously. Twine - £4m transfer fee, 4 year contract on £15k a week, total investment ~£7m, with potential resale if he does well. What would you go with, personally I'd normally go for the permanent transfer - but feel as though any investment we'd have to make in Twine (if we could get him) would be so large and risky I'd edge towards the safer choice of Celina and spend elsewhere

Celina or Twine......with the following conditions on 14:12 - Jun 14 by hype313 | Twine all day long, higher ceiling and has improved year on year and is consistently good. Love Celina, but Twine would be the better buy. |
Improved year on year, but this is Ipswich. Until we are certain the banter era is over, chances are, he'd suffer a career ending injury in the bleep test.

Celina or Twine......with the following conditions on 19:06 - Jun 14 with 1574 views | Parky | Celina every day of the week, whilst in League One. No League One team should be spending anywhere near £4m on one player. Stinks of something Derby would do if they weren’t in a mess.
Celina or Twine......with the following conditions on 19:35 - Jun 14 with 1525 views | TomTheWriter | I'd go with Elliot Anderson on a season-long loan from Newcastle. Already wanted by Championship sides some guaranteed football goes in our favour I'd go with Phoenix Patterson for a nominal fee from Waterford. 16 goal contributions from 16 games. 20-years-old where a 'Twine' like season turns a huge profit. I'd go with Morgan Rogers for a snip from Man City. 19-years-old. V.impressive for Lincoln 2 seasons back, and attainable after limited game with Bournemouth. Again, another that is a low fee with a huge re-sale value if successful. If you're willing to spend 'Celina' money, I'd go with Fashion Sakala from Rangers. We've an impressive history with Rangers players in the last few years. They are only going in one direction, and they will spend and spend to out-do Celtic. Guaranteed goals from limited starts. Twine is out of reach for all but 25 sides in England. I love Celina, and if the choice was Celina loan or Celina permanent, I too would vote for Celina on loan once again. But Celina on loan isn't as appealing as Anderson on loan. He's too inconsistent. He lights up Portman Road and then disappears at Accrington. He'll score the Goal of the Season one week and then lose the ball a dozen times the next. If it was me, it would be: 1. Anderson Loan 2. Patterson Perm 3. Celina Loan 4. Rogers Perm 5. Sakala Perm 6. Celina Perm 7. Twine Perm

There's no way I'd be going for someone from the Irish League ahead of him, Patterson wasn't close to cutting it in England - if he comes across he'll be a project not a starter.

That’s why I want both of the first two I mentioned. Have them in my ‘ideal’ squad list for the season. Anderson is a star talent, and Patterson as you say is a project with a high ceiling. The attacking midfield position should not be tied up in big fees/big wages. Striker is where the money needs to go, with 80% of teams proving you don’t need money to win games, just heart/fight/desire.

Fashion Sakala isn’t going to leave Rangers for League One. Played 30 times for them season, they only signed him last summer. Edit - 30 times is only league games. [Post edited 14 Jun 2022 20:08]

Only 13 league starts for Sakala, and we know they are going to want to improve to take the title from Celtic. This is the way the top teams act. City sell world class players every season because they go out and buy better (Haaland for Jesus). He’s a ‘push the boat’ option for a reason. But if you want guaranteed goals that’s the man you go for. 9 goals in 13 starts

Celina or Twine......with the following conditions on 14:42 - Jun 14 by textbackup | I just don’t see celina and league 1 being a great fit. The flashes of brilliance, imo, are few and far between. Twine offers a dead ball quality we don’t currently have too. Twine for me |
Thats not right regarding Celina. Him and league one is a good fit, he was brilliant last season, if we had a striker who could finish, his numbers would've been even better.

On what basis would Rogers be a low fee? The pre agreed buy option at the end of his Bournemouth loan was £9m. He didn’t enhance his reputation last season but he’s not going to suddenly be leaving for a pittance with two years left on his deal.

Agree, would be an expensive one still. Even a mid Championship side like a West Brom would pay £2-£3m for him. We'd only attract him on a loan. Good player though mind you. [Post edited 15 Jun 2022 12:26]

We tried for him at the very last knockings of the January transfer window when it was becoming apparent he was going to be sent back to City, but we couldn't get a deal sorted.

Sorry, 90s musical reference; I often just blurt out things that come into my head irl too! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Road_Rage_(song) I love this quote 'Ian Hyland gave "Road Rage" a rating of nine out of ten in his review for the Sunday Mirror. He said that if "Matthews sounded any more Welsh she'd be a dragon but this is a very excellent tune in any language."' isn't it? [Post edited 15 Jun 2022 13:32]
