The funny thing about him is that, to quote The Thick Of It, "he's so back bench he's actually fallen off". Probably one of the least influential, least bothered about Tory MPs in the country.
If Jack Abbot runs a half decent campaign Ipswich should swing back Labour easily, I'd presume.

I'm hoping to have an old friend running against him so can't share that sentiment - but it's a real opportunity for Labour to get a young fresh voice into place who could be MP for a number of years here and has genuine ambitions to go far and push the town on - with no disrepect they can't put forward another Sandy Martin or David Ellesmere from the council route. Someone needs to skip the queue, I think that part of the local Labour party is backing Jack Abbott |  |
