Baker not standing but back Braverman on 09:35 - Jul 9 with 1553 views | Plums | Why on earth are the public putting up with this? It’ll take them 2-3 months to get themselves sorted out. An election would take 25 days from being called. We are in the middle of a national crisis yet it’s once again, Tory party first. They’re taking us for the idiots many of us seem to be.

Tom Hunt backing someone who wants to tell the truth? Struggling to connect those two things in my mind.

Why are you surprised he's backing Braverman? Of all the candidates who have so far announced, her political views are most closely aligned with his.

Baker not standing but back Braverman on 10:02 - Jul 9 with 1470 views | mylittletown | Baker is completely unelectable. A religious nutter with vile views on abortion, which would turn off large numbers of voters and idiotic opinions on climate change, which anyone with a brain would object to. Braverman is dim, unpleasant, dishonest, supports knowingly breaking international treaties and argued for the horrendous Trumpian attempt to prorogue parliament. A perfect Tory leadership candidate, in other words.

On a serious note I would rather have her than the likes of Rishi and Hunt It would be good to have a woman in charge - but Penny Mordaunt is still my choice Tudgendhat and Wallace also ok with me.

I'd hate to think how many months (years?) they've wasted over internal politics and the fall out from it, when as you say there's a desperate need for good governance to get on top of all the problems. Although a bit of chicken and egg, as a good government wouldn't have as many self inflicted problems to deal with. Arguably all of Brexit falls under the wasted time category too, as it wasn't needed and was all about internal battles.

What a load of rubbish her pitch is. She's living in a parallel universe where truth means something else ... I'm guessing she means right-wing and reactionary "common sense". And culture wars is, of course, pitched front and centre. Less ideology, more evidence-based policy needed.

Baker is many things, but he's quite principled and will back who he thinks will deliver the policies he supports rather than what he can get out of it personally. Barking mad though.

Just more empty spiel isn't it. There is this continuation of receptiveness with this party, where they seem to be working on the assumption if they keep repeating key words and phrases they will brainwash the electorate.
