Wtf is your problem? Yes, we would have liked them to sign earlier, as I pointed out, it isn’t always feasible.
Signing players late in the window means they have a shorter time to integrate with the players, manager and coaching team. Less time to get used to where they’re going to live etc.
Definition of hindrance “an obstruction or snag” . If you don’t see how chucking 3 [good] footballers into games with very little preparation a hindrance, maybe you should stick to Covid and lockdowns. |
Given we hadn't won a match before they signed and we improved after they did they clearly didn't cause an "obstruction or a snag" and therefore clearly weren't a hindrance.

It's not Football Manager though. Players don't have a hidden potential rating which can be unlocked by good training.
Some players will improve with training and occasionally they will improve so much they will make a huge breakthrough and it will be amazing. However that is the rarity rather than the norm, most players will improve but within the level they are already expected to achieve.
No amount of training is going to turn Douglas into Celina.

It's a difficult one that as as individual can't really be blamed for a clubs overall league position.. we ve seen Crooks come down to go back up for example. And many others. Twine as gone forwards after replacing effectly the goals and assists of fraser. It'll be interesting how Barry does as the new twine this season.
Is it easy to find someone who can pick a pass like celina.. possibly not at this level. But we could get someone who bangs in over double figures from all angles. Set piece galore and becomes more important than celina was..
Of course we might fk it right up which is the usual ipswich thing. But I'm hoping with all this time researching we may actually get it right. | |

Can you give some examples of these "smarter, cheaper" signings who will perform as well or better than Celina.
It's mentioned everyday, frequently by yourself, however I am yet to see anyone give any examples.
I do feel for whomever we get to replace Celina as they are going to have to be better than Messi to please some fans.
