He was desperate to sign here, he even went to Turkey and basically did a runner to come back here and hope that we offered him something as wanted to sign again - but we didn't after that point and he was left with no option of where to go.
From what I gather it really wasn't about money, you can't sign for someone who isn't offering you something or agreeing a deal with your parent club.
I think it's a real shame how it has ended up, he clearly doesn't want to be there, and I'd have had him back here |  |

I've nothing against him, and would love to see him back, but it seems to me that he tried to negotiate his best deal between a few clubs (as he is entitled to do), and at some point we decided to move on as it was getting too expensive and/or that we decided he wasn't that keen to sign for us after all.

That does seem to chime with the "running towards us" comment. He was clearly courting a few clubs and seemed set to sign for Stoke, so that could be what Ashton meant.
Not a criticism of Bersant per se, he's fully entitled to seek the best deal for himself. But if the club want players desperate to be here then that's their prerogative too. Not got a problem with either stance to be honest. |  |

Why is our fanbase obsessed with things like this, as others have said it's weird. Some people go full incel about former players/managers just let them get on with their careers. As well as career and financial, yes. I’m sure it’s all been a consideration. Not sure why so many Town fans are begrudging of Celina taking a better salary to play a better standard of football in a far greater and more interesting region of the world. He owes us nothing. No brainer at the age of 26 adding Super Lig to his PL, Ligue 1 and Erdevise experience. A good move as he could still play an even better standard and get more money with time on his side. | | | |

Not disagreeing with any of that, but the running towards us comment seems to indicate that MA wants players who will immediately say they want to play for ITFC, not wait for a couple of weeks to see who offers most and then say it. If BC had been unequivocal, and agreed to take a big pay cut, he would be on our staff now. He isn't. I understand why, I wish him well, but cannot see this season working out at all well for him. I hope that somehow we can bring him home next season. |  |

I never realised a loan deal was so complicated. I thought the team that comes in just took over the contract and paid something between 0 and 100 percent of the wage, plus a loan fee, with the owner team paying the rest.

I'm not saying it's the same for this club but a lot of ex-pros who have gone abroad say that clubs regularly withold wages if teams lose etc. I dunno what he was thinking. Hopefully he can keep fit and we rescue him |  |
