If so, those so called ‘Fans’ need to take a long hard look at themselves.

Unfortunately the modern day fan, if a striker hasn’t scored 10 goals in their first two games they’re shîte.

Not exactly modern though is it? Naylor and Scrowcroft were similarly booed and that must be almost twenty years ago.

It was pathetic kids trying to be cool when older fans not around, not genuine support.

Good for them finding something to do rather than hanging around parks and streets causing other potential problems.

It's actually laughable people are actually getting upset about a group of kids having non offensive fun.

It was offensive.

To Freddie and the decent fans who were there to support the club.

Has he said he was offended?

And if you're offended by children signing songs at footy. Have a word with yourself when there's other kids stabbing others, be happy these have chosen to have fun at a football match.

Kids not stabbing each other is basic given as to how they should behave.

Spotty little pillocks abusing a player of the club I support is not something I like. Bullying for want of a better word.

You weren’t there, I was, so take your edginess somewhere else.

Good job he scored as it buys him some time — not that we should even be talking in those terms as he's already done well for us overall — but my god what utter morons, and that's the polite version of what I think. In our best shape for years and actively trying to derail it.

Yes teenager's were bullying a millionaire football player by signing songs in jest about his lack of goal scoring. I'm sure he's sat in the dressing room still thinking about it.

Probably not as he wouldn’t have heard the full story as the night progressed.

The songs weren’t in support of Freddie, but mocking him.

Bunch of teenagers singing songs that aren't offensive. There's been worse songs sung by adults that are which get ignored by the large majority.

Footballers at this level won't be effected by a group of teenagers. If they do.. football isn't for them.

This is a fair point.

Are those the two alternatives, abusing one of our players or stabbing each other?

Oh yes because I forgot that when you earn a certain amount of money, you stop having emotions.

Sadly, this seems to remind me of some of the stuff that happened with Toto again. Singled out for abuse, masked as “banter” by a certain few.

Difference however being one was a song that could be deemed offensive and sung by adults.

This is a bunch of kids who had a laugh about goal scoring or lack of. Surely you can see the difference?

Of course not. But I don't get how singing - If Freddie scores, we are on the pitch. Is seen as abuse tbh.

Kids being kids and good on them. Enjoy their visit how they wish without being offensive in their efforts.

I think they just about got away with it as became a long running joke and he did get his goal in the end, but had the ball gone out of play there he’d have been subbed off as Buabo was ready

Was stupid, and potentially damaging - that it was gotten away with was just luck

We're top of the league on goal difference, because our attacking unit is so good. More often than not he has been the spearhead of that.

Some people really are very, very dim these days aren't they.

And what exactly is the need to “have a laugh” at the expense of one of our own players? (Yes… expense of, not with)

So why didn’t they sing that same song about Chaplin or Harness I wonder….?

Give it a rest. Standing up for childish nonsense isn’t a good look.

Neither Is it a good look to be calling a bunch of kids a bunch of morons for having harmless fun at a football game.

They probably didn't sing the same song because erm.. oh yeah the others have scored more. It wouldn't really make sense to sing it to a regular scorer.
