She would throw him under a bus before you could say "Pork Markets".

They don't learn very quickly do they. Not only is it what they are doing that the markets don't like, it's the way they're doing it.

Any sniff of a divide between PM and Chancellor is just going to make things worse. The least of her problems is going on record as saying she supports him and then dropping him a few months.

How did she end up with him anyway? Did he give her his votes in the leadership election in return for the job. They clearly have a problem with communication.

He seems as poor a fit for chancellor as she does for PM.

How the hell have we ended up with these two?

They both contributed to a book in 2012. With Raab and Patel, neither of which are in her cabinet as far as i'm aware. Bit odd.

Because UK politicians are recruited/promote themselves in much the same way as candidates for The Apprentice.

It looks to be a very similar pool.

I'm waiting for a reporter to ask her if she's out of her depth.

Would be like asking Johnson if he is fat.

Something I pointed out yesterday is that rather than explain things Truss keeps warbling on about growth, as if nobody had thought about that before.

The idea, we have to suppose, is that as nobody is against growth then whatever she says is OK. Flawed logic.

If I was trying to grow the economy I would be making trade as simply to do as possible. Growth, means a requirement for extra workers. The UK currently has a huge shortage. Companies are finding it hard to locate the rights staff.

I would also make exporting as simple as possible. The Tory government has loaded business with the kind of checks and costs not seen since the UK was outside the Common Market, over 50 years ago.

Rather like new owners of ITFC saying they want the club to grow/be successful then stating that all fans and players must live/be born in Suffolk. And attendees will have to provide proof of that fact in triplicate at the turnstiles, have it verified, then proceed to another part of the ground where they will be checked to ensure they have not consumed the maximum alcohol allowed. And extra surcharge will be imposed to cover these costs

She is really bad at not answering questions. All politicians do it but the way she always says, "Well, what we want to do is..." regardless of what she's asked, is just so blatant, even the die-hards must be spotting it.

Some are kind of clever the way they do it. She might as well says, "Well I'm not answering that, so here's the party line I've rehearsed..."

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

More like something on late night Challenge TV I guess, otherwise the list of candidates would surely have been longer.

There's something in this - Johnson was a born liar. He enjoys it. He feels it proves he is better than everyone else.

Truss does it because she thinks she needs to. She not self-aware enough to recognise how bad at it she is.

Trying to pin Johnson down is like trying to nail jelly to the wall.

Stick a microphone in front of Truss and she does the rest for you.

That’s the trouble with Parliamentary democracy - you end up with ministers who have no idea of what they are doing. Instead they are in post simply because they campaigned for who ended up as PM.

Thinking about it is it only MPs who can serve in the cabinet? Can people who actually have experienced of certain areas be put into a relevant ministerial post?

The need to be in Parliament, so if you want an unelected bureaucrat like David Evans in the cabinet you make him a Lord.

Think Lords can serve in ministerial posts.

"Stick a microphone in front of Truss and she does the rest for you."

Like in that interview this morning when she said the public shouldn't judge her performance as PM until the end of 2023.

Somehow I think she is going to be disappointed.
At the end of 2023 I expect her to be saying "Would you like fries with that?"

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?
