Good question and one I can't really answer to be honest. I do my little bit like recycle anything I can, eat very little meat( only chicken about twice a week) and only use the car if I have to and turn everything off im not using indoors but that's obviously not enough. I would gladly pay an extra tax if all the money went on renewable energy projects. [Post edited 11 Nov 2022 10:23]

My suggestion would be, if anyone wants to use a historical analogy, the Irish Famine as point of comparison, is pretty good, e.g. what happens when a Government wilfully neglects a population, profits from that population, and then those actions lead to a million deaths, a mass migration event, and some subsequent armed conflict, racism to immigrants, and tropes about people being stupid and criminal, people could use any of the stories from those events. It may even land a bit better, rather than using the context of a hateful despicable fascist regime, look what happened when a western power didn’t act, and look at the stories of the people that did try and oppose that power. As a cheery aside, people maybe interested in the origination of the word Boycott. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Boycott The Irish, inventors of effective cancel culture.

That is all a good start. Honestly very laudable. You could stop all meat and dairy consumption as well. But, that isn’t the JSO cause. How will the government know you are behind the JSO cause?

In the interview, that you watched, and in other media, the JSO have been very clear about the aim and the cause. Which is that the Government should stop granting new oil and gas licenses. All you could do, is write a letter to your MP, simply stating, yes I was inconvenienced by the JSO protest, but I am behind their cause. Could you please stop granting new oil and gas licenses, and please invest more money on green technologies, including onshore wind. I am even prepared to pay a tax to help, so please keep the green energy levy, and if the opportunity arises I would like you to support more wind turbines in our constituency. If everyone that says they support the cause, and states they have empathy for the cause, drops a quick letter to their local MP to that effect, that may help the government understand the actual level of support for this cause.

Someone in my wireless said earlier that wind (onshore, not sure?) was nine times cheaper than gas these days, so why the fkcu are we granting new gas licences?? I'm wondering where this nine times cheaper figure comes from and whether it stands up to scrutiny, but if it's even remotely close...

Not sure that I "beat all of them with it". I literally said "no words" in reply to a poster who was talking about one person who gave a bad interview. Worth noting though that the Anne Frank tweet was from the 'Just Stop Oil' official account and not some random protester. Anne Frank isn't a political football to be kicked about at anyone's convenience.

Explain how it’s JSO using Anne Frank as a “political football” and not you and your fellow smeary extremists. JSO made a point with examples to counter the inference (from Henry Bolton!!) that laws have some moral authority. They don’t – or otherwise laws wouldn’t be scrapped, changed or reformed like they are. “Good people break bad laws” says JSO and they’re right. Then a bunch of weirdos quite frankly wade in and try to police them from using the example of Anne Frank. Is this how far gone and yet how secure loons like the CAA, Jewish Chronicle, JLM, LAAS etc. now feel in pushing their radicalised views? And always always punching left because they know the left sees them for what they are: right-wingers weaponising antisemitism to push their dodgy ethno-religious nationalism. But JSO didn’t “invoke the Holocaust” or “compare themselves with those who helped Anne Frank”. That’s something you and others are inferring and then using to frame your outrage. The actual context for anyone who reads them as they’re written is these are counter-arguments responding directly to a tweet. Keep your smeary, dishonest nonsense out of the environmental debate. viewed this thread occasionally over the week. log on now and dk is banging on about "CAA, Jewish Chronicle, JLM, LAAS". now what a surprise. come on, one last push and you can get all the way to israel. you know you can do it.
