Novotel injunction rejected on 10:12 - Nov 12 by Swansea_Blue | Yep, agreed that it’s not at all fair on any who lose their jobs. They should be compensated in some way by the government as it’s the government’s failures to have an efficient process that’s largely the cause of their scrabbling around to find hotels. Everyone should be angry at them for wasting public money (again), not at the asylum seekers. [Post edited 12 Nov 2022 10:13]

The Ipswich Hotel in Copdock is currently housing Afghan refugees. They cause no trouble, and are mostly seen coming or going to Ipswich either on foot or on bike. I generally pass several of them on my way to and from FPR, we nod and say hello. It's all terribly british.

being smack bang in the town centre, i personally think, will cause issues that arent seen on the outskirts of a town. the police also see it this way, but were totally ignored when airing their concerns.

You mean people looking for a better life who have the right to be assessed by the immigration system. Let's hope you never have to flee anywhere, you're only in the position that you don't due to luck of birth. SB

I hope you have written to your MP complaining about the slowness of processing them and lack of investment in doing so which is causing this situation and cost. You could also suggest that some form of allowance for them to use their skills in gainful employment while waiting to be processed would make them less burdensome. You could also ask about tax avoidance and problems that cost the country orders of magnitude of more money. And about Government misspending it too.

Genuine asylum seekers, Albanian men or economic migrants? On the subject of the Albanians and economic migrants, just send them straight back. Had enough now of seeing them roll up expecting everything whilst British people struggle. Enough is enough.

What is your definition of an economic migrant? What is it that they are expecting? Why are they expecting it? Are you suggesting that their presence is causing British people to struggle? Please do explain your logic there. When you say "enough is enough" are you alluding to the radicalisation that leads to petrol bombing an asylum centre? Or are you suggesting that the Government should be processing claims faster? Or are you suggesting sinking the boats so that the immigrants will drown? What does "enough is enough" mean? And, have you had enough of this Government's spending cuts to enable the rich to take a much greater share or is that all OK?

So no real evidence, just guess. And I am sure we can all work out what sort of people are doing that guessing. The same sort of folk who are winding themselves up.... about what ? Given how many EU workers left during the pandemic the numbers of non UK folk is still far less than 2019 The cost ? Yes the cost far out ranks the hundreds of millions in interest payments Truss's brexit attempt will now cost. It doesn't. "It affects me... baa baa." No it does not. All it does is put the spotlight on the rabid racists among us. Meanwhile, rightie politics has seen endless cuts to the civil service, so not only are there not enough immigration staff to process these claims, there are not enough customs staff to check inward arriving goods. Thickos hoist by their own stupidity, some might argue. Where was the protest from righties when Johnsons lunatic idea was to cut the civil service by 91,000 ? Brexit took the UK out of the Dublin Accord. Thats why the numbers arriving have increased Time brexiters stopped endlessly whining and began to accept the consequences of their actions
