Any tips to deal with it please? Dr stuff in progress, but I'm now one of 7m on a waiting list, so looking for old-wives tale style things if anyone has one? At this rate I'm liable to have ripped my skin off before I make it to a dermatologist. ta

You're gonna need an ocean...

(sorry, no sensible suggestions, except does a warm bath help, or is it just worse when you get out?)

I'm sure my mother-in-law says that medicated talcum powder after a warm bath can help with itching.

Yeah the dr gave me some Emoliant stuff for the bath - early days, but I think baths might make it worse even.

Dermol lotion, it is an anti-microbial emolient and mosituriser used for eczema and dermatitis.

Also, maybe try taking an anti-histamine, see if that helps.

I am not sure what your condition is but there are charities (such as the National Eczema Society) who offer advice on treatment. You could also speak to a pharmacist.

Moisturiser and talc powder twice a day.

Aloe vera to sooth itching/burning.

If it’s on your feet or your knob don’t wear the same pants/socks for more than 12 hours a time. Go without if you can, alas people may not take kindly to you out in public dressed like Winnie the Pooh. But you are from Norfolk so maybe you’ll start a new fashion craze up there instead.

Eurax cream is decent. Benadryl or similar too. A bath won't help, unless it's ice cold. Heat would just make worse.

This is the best suggestion - it depends on what is itching, and what the skin looks like, as well as any other symptoms you may have. Some of the suggestions you have had could make it worse depending on what the specific problem is, although they will work a treat for other itches. For example, an aqueous cream used on the wrong sort of itch can cause some pretty nasty unwanted effects. Talk to a pharmacist first because it could be a waste of time and money, or you could end up with an angrier itch.

A 111 clinician would also be likely to give you a decent indication of what is safe to take for your specific symptoms, however, you will have to go through the questions with someone non-medical first, and they will then probably recommend you talk to your GP. At that point you can refuse the outcome and ask to speak to a clinician. You will most likely have to wait many hours for a call back, but someone should be able to guide you.

I'd opt for talking to a pharmacist myself. Feel better soon!
