The Portman Rd surface is in a dire state. It's needed significant work beneath the topsoil for well over a decade. It cuts up week after week and was like an ice rink even in the second half of the Fleetwood game. If it's consistently below zero between now and Sat I think it'll be a coinflip. |

I can't see the game being called off if the temperature is hovering around freezing.

Club were pretty astonished that that was off, there was no suggestion it was in doubt, and Alan Ferguson furious, from what I remember. There was a small patch which was frozen which he was confident he could have sorted but the referee wouldn't allow it. |  | | |
