Wrong that people shouldn’t be exploited? I disagree. The comment about Qatar was relevant to this tournament, so nobody should have a problem with that. Bringing it back to the UK was more political, so it’s arguable as to whether it was appropriate (but whether appropriate or not he was also right, and why shouldn’t there be a supportive voice in our media for the nurses to counter all the normal bile?). |  |

Bvllsh1t, absolute tosh. People with a platform should use it to call out things that are fundamentally wrong. Who would listen to you? Nobody. Who would listen to me? Even less than nobody. If you disagree with what he said, fine. What he said is moral as much as political. And the other argument in this thread seems to be that if you’ve made some money, you are excluded from airing your view. So the natural conclusion there is that no one who has made some money should ever be able to share their views? Where does that end? Just cos you have some money in the bank doesn’t always mean you are a self serving charlatan. |  |

I agree with what you say here except for one slight twist.
If you have made money it isn't that you can't air your view but rather it is hypocritical for that view to support the poor. Therefore rich people (i.e. pretty much everyone famous and with a platform) can only air views that support the promotion of policies that benefit the rich and demonise the poor.
