for some time now. We often speak of "must win" games for the team, but I genuinely believe that Saturday is a "must win" for McKenna, anything less than 3 points against FGR and the powers that be start drawing up a list of managerial candidates (if they haven't already). It's the diligent and prudent thing to do, McKenna has had probably as much time and definitely more money at his disposal than previous managers, but has produced a run of results worse than those before him, runs that saw those managers sacked. Our owners are investing a lot of money on and off the pitch and they want results quickly, so will Ashton, before his job comes under scrutiny too.

Yeah. Pretty sure that wasn't the reality of the situation.
But I'll step away seeing as how easily offended by words you appear to be.
It’s just getting a bit tiring dealing with people shooting everything I say down, without having invested any time understanding if it is right, or wrong, no offence intended.
The O’Leary stuff on Cook is detailed in the first 10 minutes of his first official press conference (Brett Johnson also on it) it’s a lengthy video available on YouTube.
Last post before bed, just wanted to say that I find it very interesting that (as far as I can recall without trawling through all previous comments) nobody in the entire thread was confident enough to suggest that 3 points against FGR was a dead cert so the OP was pointless anyway.
Confidence is so low, that nobody is prepared to put their neck on the line for a result against the bottom club, who are in terrible form. This, against the backdrop of our Captain having to be restrained from a potential physical altercation with our own supporters after the worst performance of the season to date. Yet, at the same time, the suggestion that there is a possibility of the owners losing faith in the manager, is silly? Hmmmmm
McKenna gets my backing until the end of the season whichever way it goes. If we continue this poor form and miss out on the play offs then I don't think I'd want him to stay next but I really don't expect that to happen and I think he will get it right. There's hardly an array of good managers out there at the moment who I'd want us to bring in.
It would be pretty popular in the current climate of over simplifying everything in the most negative way and projecting worst possible outcomes. It may even make a few quid in advertising revenue.

If Town don't go up this season McKenna's position must be under serious threat. He's had a huge bidget & been able to bring in supposedly better quality players in January. If in the final third of the season, he shows that he can integrate & use the new players & we recover our form, I think he should stay . However, if this dismal mid season run continues & we limp into the play-offs & fail or miss out altogether, I think he has to go.

No he didn't. And this could potentially get Phil in a lot of trouble. You should be banned.

He's right altho maybe a tad to deep Morsy was ushered away from getting closer.
It was words. There is zero evidence he was going to get into a "physical altercation with our own supporters." Stop supporting all that is negative and get behind your team.
Trust the process. Trust Phil.

He said potential.
I can see where he's coming from. An emotional player getting closer and closer to someone throwing abuse. There was certainly a possibility of it turning into a physical altercation.
We had that moment last season with Toto and Walton etc. So TB isn't wrong imo to use the word potential.
BTW I made it clear I wasn't supporting the negativity by saying I don't think it was that deep.

Anybody with eyes can watch the video and see what happened, started with some verbals, then Morsy started walking aggressively towards whoever it was in the crowd, at that point the sub grabbed his arm to try and pull him back, he shrugged him off, so the sub walked in front of him and obviously told him to just get in the dressing room.
No idea what was said between the parties, but that’s not the point, the fact that our Captain was involved in a heated argument with fans, that without the sub being present could have easily spiralled into a physical altercation, is a massive red flag for where the club is right now, the owners will not be oblivious to this, neither will Ashton.
Not Johnson. But found this piece from one of the impatient owners. ( his own words )
"The first and most important thing in my head, that is constantly bothering me, is that I want to get out of League One. Let’s get ourselves to the Championship first"

You can't just put "potential" in front of something and then it's ok. That's like thinking "allegedly" works as a defence for libellous remarks.

You're a disgrace. Walking aggressively is a world away from physically assaulting someone. Shame on you.

He didn't say he was going to assault him, but if Morsy was allowed to go right up to the crowd what do you think would have happened? They'd have just carried on chatting?

Minority Report innit? I expect McKenna thought something nasty about one of our fans once too so that is as bad as MM mouthing "eff off" on camera before we had actually beaten nodge.
And as for the ridiculous linking evidence of what was said. I have linked where Mike O'Leary did say about Cook being GameChangers' first choice (although why would he say anything different in the situation they were in?). I have also shown there is no evidence for this idea Brett Johnson said it was play-offs or the sack for the first season and promotion or the sack for the second season. TalkingBlues cannot link it because it doesn't exist. And, if it does exist, surely sacking Cook with the club having gone backwards would reset those priorities. Minimum targets would be play-offs this season, promotion next. However, Johnson never said any such thing anyway! Quite the opposite, the message has been of patience and a longer term project at every point.

Man alive, say what you want to say, but you don’t need to add things that haven’t been said. At no point did I say anything about being sacked for not achieving promotion in first season, or next, but promotion has been the target since they took over, that’s their return on the large investment made and the only way they could possibly see a return on it, it’s business 101.
Cook was the number 1 for both, if Gamechanger didn’t want him appointed, he wouldn’t have been appointed, simple as that: They spoke with ME about Cook, prior to his hiring, as they had reached agreement on the sale of the club (after about 14 months of negotiation) and ME wasn’t about to jeopardise the whole thing by hiring a manager the new owners didn’t want and encumbering them with the contract.
Brett Johnson described himself as having a “healthy impatience” for promotion, which was proven to be the case by the execution of Cook and he has always maintained that the group seek promotion ASAP, whilst assuring that they have a long term plan for the club as a whole.

The middle paragraph is just not true - at the time Cook was appointed Evans was still hoping to get investment and not a takeover. They had absolutely nothing to do with Cook’s appointment

Watch the first 6 minutes, but I recommend that a lot of the posters on the forum listen to the whole thing, extremely insightful into the Gamechanger and Mike O'Leary mindsets.
