Exeter have still got to play the other top 6 teams including a home derby with Plymouth which could be interesting!
Need to keep up our winning streak on Saturday to really benefit from all the recent results

This last month perfectly illustrates why it wasn't a good idea to throw the towel in after our iffy run in January - way too much of the season left, and other teams were always going to have their own wobbles.

Still a long way to go, and we still have ground to make up, but we have to start feeling confident that we can do it. I would say that Saturday is huge, but to be honest every single game left is huge.

Feels like a watershed game today that leaves me thinking there's nothing to fear in Barnsley now. They've peaked. All focus on what's above now, it's a three horse race.

Ah crap that dangerous hope is creeping back in.

Incredible to think that just over a month ago, after the 0-0 draw away at Bristol Rovers, we sat in 4th place, 2 points behind Bolton who are now well behind us, 10 points behind Plymouth which we cut to 2 points before they played an extra game, 8 points behind Wednesday and they had a game in hand, just 1 point ahead of Derby who had a game in hand on us and 4 ahead of Barnsley who has two games in hand over us.

What a fantastic turnaround since the 4-0 win over FGR.

Fans in general pay far too much attention to recent form as an indicator of how the rest of the season will go. In January everyone (myself included) thought Derby would overtake us, now they’re miles behind and struggling to stay in the top six.

Glassers posted last week about how in mid-February he was listening to a Bolton fans’ phone in and they were all adamant they were getting top two but we outclassed them the other week and they’re now in the same position as Derby.

Barnsley are better than both teams but it’s a similar pattern - nobody could see how they’d be beaten and a lot of EFL pundits/bloggers backed them to finish in the top 2 but now after one defeats they’re back to being outsiders

We’ll be beaten again too and could fall away ourselves but I’ve never changed my view since about September that Wednesday and Argyle are the favourites and that if we finish above either, we’ll go up.

I came away from that Bristol match pretty convinced we were in the process of blowing it. Had looked toothless for much of the game, lots of fan negativity. A feeling of drift.

But then suddenly it came together for Town and began to unravel for our rivals. Broadhead coming on as a fairly late sub was the turning point. Gave us a whole load more energy and bite. Not quite enough to change that result, but waa at least a hint of how the team was on the brink of a transformation.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Just continue to handle our own business.

The chips have fallen nicely this week, but we will drop points along the way as well.

9 games, some tough ones in there - let’s enjoy the run in.

Isn’t it refreshing to be competing at the very top end of the division come the final stretch, and not wondering whether we are going to scrape in to the play-offs. It’s been a really enjoyable season!

I will say though, if SWFC win tonight, we are still 5/6 points off the auto spots, so not as clear cut as it seems. Still need plenty of luck and those above to drop points

Agree, although they were awful against FGR.

Cheltenham are in a decent little run of form as well.

Last 4 games, 3 clean sheets, 3 wins and 1 draw.

Picked up some impressive wins at home to Exeter and Fleetwood, and a really impressive 3-0 away win at Peterborough.

Sheffield Wednesday lose tonight and it's our hands which will be a hell of a fall from the owls given the position they were in not long ago.

Agree with your last paragraph too. They are still the two favourites for autos.

I've felt unusually sanguine since the Oxford defeat. For once I took it on the chin and didn't dwell, thinking meh what will be will be, if it's play offs we've got as good a chance as the other three teams and having seen the way we play we can be positive. The Bolton and Shrews games however made me seriously think we will trouble the top two.

One thing for sure is more twists and turns coming up. Every game a biggie from now on for every team in top nine or ten. Exciting! Though yeh whatever it's the third division... but that's not putting any dampeners on, for me anyway.

Morsy now can play without the yellow over his head so can put himself about 10% more than what he had been. Although I think he's been brilliant since he's reigned in his tough tackling.

Keep Luongo fit too and we've got a great chance.

I hope Morsy continues to play the same as he has been with the yellows hanging over him tbh - the last thing we need is him going a bit ott & getting a red - don't forget what (for the most part) L1 refs can be like!
