On the 94th minute last night a couple of fans near me left...

I mean wtf is wrong with you? Fck the traffic, it was literally the most important 2 minutes of our season and you are worrying about a few minutes longer in the car park ffs

Let me let you into a secret, when we win games like that, 90% of fans hang around to applaud the team off and for some fist pumping...so it ain't going to make that much difference!

Evening games I normally go for the 21:44 train, makes a big difference in terms of work the next day. No chance of that last night though and I’m happily very tried this morning.

It's been like that for years at grounds all over the country.

Mates left as soon as the FT whistle went, asked if wanted to go with for a lift, I declined, have to stay and clap the players off and have a good cheer! Plus a good fisting.

…I done all that and still made it back to the car for a lift

Tbf nearly everyone was stuck to the edge of their seats!

That penalty, could barely watch, in fact I didn't,.I just focused on the back of the net hoping to see it bulging :-)

6 up is a lot easier on the nerves!

Was confident when i saw Broadhead was taking it. There's still only been one penalty ever that i couldn't watch which was during Italia 90 and was only watching on TV - had to go into another room!

Freedom of choice i suppose. As an aside, i never leave early, always applaud players off.

Same at HT, people heading down for a beer or a p*ss on 40 mins, don't understand it.

Seems like the injury time goals are going to really define this season.

How many Plymouth fans leave early to beat the traffic - I suggest very few at the moment.

Most of us are there 100% for the football, they're not, they would rather have a beer or drink more than their bladder can handle.

I left early once.

Once.

My daughter was outside the ground waiting for me and stressing.

I missed an ET goal, hearing the roar as I walked up the road.

It was horrible.

I caught the 2144 too as it’s my stag do today and I’ve been away from home since Sunday so needed to get back re pack, drop keys for pet sitting with a friend who lives 20 mins away and sort the house out. Got to sleep at 3am and had a conference today so up at 6am.

Every other game I’d always stay but I won’t be leaving in those circumstances again as apparently it’s absolute crucial that I stick it out and get the slow train back to get home for 1:30am and subsequently don’t sleep at all.

I understand the desire to see a packed stadium at the end but evening games will ALWAYS make that tricky and people who pipe up about it need to factor that into their rants.

Oh and the penalty going in was perfect timing to get me down the aisle and out the stadium without missing a goal. If we could get winners every night game at that time it would really help the 2144 brigade

I agree, I find it very odd. You never know what you may miss. You wouldn't leave the cinema with a couple of minutes to go would you?

AGAIN, it's not aimed at specific situations like yours. You are fine. Go about your business young man, and good luck with the up coming wedding.

We stayed to clap the players, then went to Curve bar for two pints, then walked back to Portman Road... and the queues to get out of the car parks were STILL horrendous.

I just fired up the SatNav 3000 and took a different route round the ground and up some winding back roads before joining the A12 and by-passing all those suckers. Probably beat some of those who left early to beat the traffic!

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Why let it bother you??

Firstly - "literally the most important 2 minutes of our season"? really? Anyone could see that we'd withdrawn our attacking intent and were comfortably seeing that out... Vale were done.

Secondly - You don't know people's circumstance so you shouldn't assume or judge. It could be any number of things meaning people need a headstart on the traffic; Trains, distance to travel, family situation... Leaving two minutes early might just (WILL) save 20-30 minutes in a car park and the subsequent town centre heavy traffic, not "a few minutes". With a child or two that needs to go to school in the morning... To get home to a partner that has been on their own with a baby all evening, that time saving is pretty valuable. Yes, it's annoying to have to miss the celebrations and atmosphere at the end but I see it as a gesture to my partner that we go but be mindful of the kids and her situation and try and get us all back as early as possible after the half hour drive.

That's my situation anyway, and I left at that point. As I did so some absolute tool, (might have been you?), said "FFS", (in it's full form), out loud as we walked past. Basically to a family with kids. Nice touch. I mean, I get it... we were playing the ball around near the halfway line and you may have missed about 4 seconds of the action, but come on...

Just let people be, eh?

Another taking it personally.

How do you know that person in the crowd was saying FFS at you leaving early? Maybe he was saying it at your stupid haircut.

I will never get this weird narrative of bashing people leaving early. "I stay longer than you, I care more than you, I am ITFC's number 1 fan because I stayed and turned the lights off and can hold my bladder".

Grown adults, you pay for a ticket, you leave when you want. It's not an obligation to stay.

Just because you live in a skip round the back of Portman Road and it takes you 10 seconds to get into your abode, doesn't mean you are better than anyone else because you stay a little bit longer. Why don't you just ignore people who leave and get on with your own life.
