Johnson's gone (n/t) on 20:41 - Jun 9 by HARRY10

Still lying to the end

"says he is 'bewildered and appalled' at being 'forced out'"

So a parliamentary investigation that he voted for, led by a Tory majority, and yet to be voted on by a 70 plus Tory lower house is....... being forced out.

Even if that Tory majority agrees to the suspension, it is then up to his constituents to vote for a by election. Why would a hard work constituency MP fear that level of democracy ? And then it is up to a free vote in that by election.

Perhaps it is because he is an odious slimeball whose long list of lies and deception are now finally catching up with him

Well, at least he has finally, beyond doubt, shown what sensible folk knew all along. He is nothing more than a shallow narcissist with an over blown sense of his own importance.

I can only hope that if the two forthcoming by elections see the Tories get a massive kicking, the Prime Miniature will also admit the game is up and call for a General Election. The corruption and mismanagement has gone on far too long and is causing far, far too much harm to the country.

I’m quite enjoying the symmetry of him stepping down after receiving the privilege committee findings at the same time news is breaking about Trump being charged. Two narcissistic chancers who abused their positions of power. Fk them both.

Yes, brilliant. This is my constituency, anyone know when the by-election would likely be? I’ve no idea how long these things take to set up.

It’s a fairly blue area (many of the councils held by tories even in the disastrous last round of local elections for the Tories) and a majority of 7,000 won’t be easy to overturn but hope it’s a possibility now that oaf has gone.

I suspect this is just the beginning, as the COVID enquiry has another three years to run. And I expect the corruption over PPE, the incompetence of the bloater and the actions he did not take which led to so many deaths, will be gone into,

Maybe it will not be like Nuremberg where the guilty were duly executed - but only a thorough investigation will remove this stain on the country.

I suspect we may be hearing a bit more on why the bloater was supporting Putin in 2014.

With Trump now facing all manner of charges, it can only be likened to Mussolini, Adolf and Hirohito.

Johnson should be brought before the courts to answer for his fraud and corruption.

Harry10, I used to think your views extreme. Tonight, I fear you are a bit too centrist & forgiving.

History will judge Jonnson at best as a chancer, more likely as a wannabee feudal Lord, but hopefully as a treacherous, self-serving, mass-murdering, philandering, treacherous sh1tbag.

Bit more symmetry for you there - had to double-take whether he was talking about the report or himself.

I hope so buh. If it takes 5 years to fully investigate this sewer of a government(s) and hold them to account, it’ll be worth it. If we carry on as if nothing has happened when the next government comes in, it’ll be an opportunity missed to clean up politics and restore some trust. The corruption and profiteering around PPE should be enough to see them behind bars. And that’s just the tip of it

You must be a pretty weak sort of cove if you can be 'forced out' by 'not a shred of evidence'. Either that or a deceitful, manipulative, narcissistic, poisonous scumbag. F off Johnson, you irresponsible w-anchor.

Too right he should. He should be charged with crimes against the State. Treason. If Common Law doesn’t allow it or there is no applicable law, bring one in and include within it recovery of all his assets.

Public Service? He and they don’t know the meaning of the word. Their contempt for all bar ‘their people’ is limitless.

Regardless, it looks like the tories will be tearing whatever’s left of their sorry shower apart for many years to come. They love the warmth of opposition and good old in fighting. They did it for years after Major was booted out.

“Forced out” undemocratically.

By a committee that had a Tory majority. Whose recommendation would be voted on by a Parliament with a Tory majority and then would face a vote from his local constituency.

3 separate votes. How democratic does he want it?

It was not just the fraud over the PPE. Caused by the 2010 Tory government and those later, allowing PPE stocks to be run down. Letting the stocks to run at the barest minimum, then claiming the saved money is new investment.

It is the deaths of medical staff caused by those shortages that is the bigger scandal. One, over seen by the then Health Secretary, Jeremy Hunt.

Let's have it explained why Johnson backed Putins 2014 invasion of Crimea. Why was Putin donating so much money to the Tory Party via former KGB officers.

MPs should not have any second job. If you want to carry on as a barrister then do not become an MP. No gifts should be accepted either. The police and other civil servants have strict rules about this. For obvious reasons.

Scrap the Lords attendance allowance, which can be claimed by signing in on the morning and then fu cking off 5 minutes later.

Have the Lords voted in on a PR basis at the same time as a GE. No one knows who they would be voting for, and there is no constituency for them to be accountable to. And unlike the lower house legislation is scrutinised, NOT passed

Most importantly, the political and legal mechanisms of the law and justice should be taught at school, thoroughly. From the basic magistrates court through to Parliament and how laws are drawn drafted and passed. From parish councils to huge municipal councils

The depth of ignorance on this matter is staggering. The ownership of around 50% of the land in England is not known. What enormous sums of wealth are held by supposed charities.

Yet we allow the most clueless to trot along to vote, in this case because Johnson was supposedly a 'character' *

The Telegraph's comments on their lead article are a shambles, between people making dire prognostications on what will be the outcome of losing the "saviour" and those of both extreme reactionary views and more moderate ones celebrating his demise.

Whatever Heseltine has said I’ve read Johnson’s speech and I’ve never read so much rubbish in all my life.

The thing is, I don’t think he is deluded or anything like it. He is a pathological liar. A weak little man (in the true sense of the word) that lives in his own hubris.

A vacuous windbag. There are plenty of people out there that will support him. Maybe it’s time to have a look at such people and decide whether they are fit enough in the head to have the vote.

Johnson? Good riddance.

He is determined to get power. He sees himself as above the rules. He sees the support he has if he can paint the current party as against Brexit and holding the ERG back. When they flounder at the next polls, he can come riding in on his horse to resurrect the true party and take it back where he and Truss and the ERG wanted it to be.

Frightening if there is the remotest chance he could (re)gain the support of enough of the electorate. I am cautiously optimistic that he can't.

I doubt. Johnson and his latter day Brownshorts will be rooted out and removed. Sunak has already begun inching the party back to what we once knew it to be, not the rage bag of right wing loons. And Osborne's comments today are just one of a number of opening shots.

Toad, Ratty, Mole and Badger will want to see the weasels, stoats and other assorted vermin destroy themselves before they make a decisive move to take back Toad Hall (Tory Party). That will mean seeing this lot sunk without trace at the next election.

Only a thorough humiliation in the election will give them the authority to lay claim to the party, and spell out the need for it to head back to the middle ground. Johnson might kid himself it was 'me that won it', but internal Tory polling showed Johnson was third behind Brexit and Corbyn as the reason for the 2019 victory.

To 'get back' Johnson needs a constituency to fight. And a safe one at that. There's not a chance of a constituency going against head office and selecting him.

And fittingly, for a man who dreamed of leaving a lasting legacy in the form of a bridge, and tunnel or some edifice named after him, his legacy to the country will be of the man who caused so many deaths with his incompetent handling of covid, who caused so much harm to the UK economy by pushing for Brexit, and any number of kids of which two are yet to grow up hating him, as the others do.

A true legacy of a venal and contemptuous man, who lied and lied until the lying could no longer hide the true nature of the man.
