Does having mental health issues make such behaviour less repulsive? It can explain individuals behaviour, but do people suffering from depression lose their sense of right and wrong? Not looking for an argument just interested whether you, or other posters know the answer.
The Sun will never stop. Both the Tories and Labour are guilty of courting that rag and turning a blind eye to their take on good journalism. And of course, other tabloids are just as guilty.
"Does having mental health issues make such behaviour less repulsive? It can explain individuals behaviour, but do people suffering from depression lose their sense of right and wrong? "
Who decides if exchanging pics with someone 40 years younger than you, and it isn't illegal is repulsive? You?

Suddenly nobody seems that bothered about #MeToo when there are sides (The Sun vs BBC) to be taken!
He deserves to be fired, this behaviour is, how did Schofield describe it, ‘unwise but not illegal’?
It’s not fitting for someone in his role, but didn’t need to be dragged through the papers like this and the Sun may regret it if they can’t provide the proof to back up original story

Just checking.
Was speaking more generally than just on this. My bad as I should have made it clearer and maybe not on this thread.

Surely The Sun will stop if it is bankrupted and goes the way of The News Of The World.

Heard a discussion on R4 t’other day with media person saying that the Shun engages in this sort of behaviour because the extra income from increased circulation and advertising has always exceeded what they’ve had to pay out in damages.

Unfortunately, most of the internet already knew because pictures had started doing the rounds. Inevitable.
More concerned about the allegations he was threatening someone than him spending money on pictures personally.
Although there's something somewhat funny about a "devout" Christian doing it.
There isn't anything funny about these circumstances regardless of any belief system of the individuals involved.
Furthermore, religious beliefs do not make you impervious to doing anything wrong - that's why there are prayers of repentance at most church services and confession at Catholic churches.
Mental health isn't funny and affects people from all of society.

Because he’s a wrong’Un holding a role of great responsibility
Well, thank god 'Judge Joe' is here to save all our 18 year old daughters. How much do you know about it Joe? Is it safe to say what you've read on Twitter?

Respectfully, how much do you know either? Other allegations have come to light and taken together some of these allegations don't look great. The BBC is investigating, which seems an appropriate course of action from them, and they'll then make any decisions accordingly.

We don't actually know what he's done wrong yet, and it seems his mental health may be a factor. The fact that he's been hospitalised in the last week shows it's really bad (perhaps the hospitalisation is in part to protect him from himself).
I have a lot of sympathy for him right now, rather than wanting to call him a wrong 'un (when I say right now I mean with the facts we know so far. That could of course change).
Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Absolutely. Investigation.
The Police have done one - "No evidence of criminality" BBC investigation - Not yet started.
Joe - "He's a wrong un". Thats the kind of s^it that causes people to make attempts on their own lives. Before you say it, obviously he won't see Joe's thoughts, but Joe won't be alone.
Thought better of both of you TBH. I don't know much, but I know people are innocent until proven, or at least they should be.
The Sun needs to be held accountable for this. It has sunk to even lower depths than previously imaginable.
That this rag, GB News and that cheap Aussie spiv Murdoch can celebrate gutter reporting, belligerent self-righteousness over a non-crime is horrendous. Sure, Huw Edwards has done something morally wrong, but this comic delights in being the Daily Mail's bumptious, vicious twin. All done in the guise of 'the working man and woman'.

You thought better of me than suggesting we should wait until the BBC has completed its investigation and decided what action it needs to take? You're right, I'm clearly a brute.

It's funnier if someone has a mental breakdown, engages in high risk sexual behaviour and ends up hospitalised, if they are a devout Christian?
Would you like to show your workings on that?
Because it's completely not what a devout Christian would do?
I don't find it funny he's been hospitalised and I made my statement before that bit had come out, or at least it wasn't on the site where I saw the name pop out. I find the obviously not Christian behaviour from a devout Christian to be fairly funny though.
Maybe funny isn't the right word but I'm struggling to think of a better one. It's not "haha" funny.
With all that said, I think the original accusation should have never been published in the first place as it's none of our business. The other accusation that he was threatening someone else if they came forward is a different matter.

"Respectfully, how much do you know either? Other allegations have come to light and taken together some of these allegations don't look great."
Its not about "what I know", its about knowing whats right.
I found it odd that you should take any kind of defence of Joe's stance is all. Make your mind up, which is it? Joe knows, or we should wait?

I am aware of all of that, but mental health is an explanation but not an excuse for doing wrong.
