R4 just announced it’s Huw Edwards on 21:25 - Jul 12 by Mach_foreignBlue
Have you been in coma today? Don't you know what he did?
I assume he is OK then in your opinion.
I'm asking what you think he did that was so awful, given that the main allegation that he engaged in something criminal has been shown to have no evidence to support it.

Good grief. Do you really pay attention to that sort of guff on Twitter?
For those on Twitter, is this normal on there? Is this part of the reason why we’re in such a miserable, divided place right now with a liberal sprinkling of bellends on crusades?
As someone who's been on twitter for over 10 years, this is just one side of what's out there, there's usually an at least equal or greater number of heavyweights with big follower numbers to counter the guff.
However, since EM took over & sacked huge numbers of moderators etc., it's undoubtedly got worse. Many good people (incl. ordinary account holders) have simply left, or rarely tweet much any more (I'm one of the latter).
To summarise, man with documented history of mental health issues does nothing illegal and is hounded for it… by a newspaper acting as the morale compass who previously published photos of a 15 year old topless, who happen to be owned by a person owned by the aforementioned hounded persons employer?
Meanwhile, a more serious news story which paints newspaper owner’s mate in a bad light it glossed over?

Because that is where this is ending?
GB News is literally giving airtime to fascists and conspiracy theorists?! Why aren’t you outraged by that?!
Furthermore, have you not noticed the BBC has the ability to investigate itself?
The Sun literally phone tapped the parents of children who’s be killed by paedophiles!
Edwards is sick, no excuse.
But we are worse off as country when we lose the BBC
I don’t think I’m comfortable with the “Edwards is sick, no excuse” line. Not on what we know so far anyway.
To be honest, if no laws have been broken and it’s mutual, it’s none of our business. I feel for his family, but that’s an assumption too, as we don’t know what they knew or didn’t. Whether he abused his position may come into it, but that’s for the BBC to consider.
True story. As a kid just starting to notice variations in body shape, I dressed up in my cubs uniform and knocked on people’s doors saying I was collecting newspapers for Bob-a-job to re-use them*. I convinced a friend up the road to join me so we could collect more. Back home I separated out all the page 3s and decorated my room with them, floor to ceiling and even on the windows (pointing out of course to share the love).
Mum wasn’t impressed, needless to say.
To this day I’m proud that I didn’t need to buy even 1 copy.
*this was in about 1981, so I was actually a proto-recycler. So it really was a good deed.

Quite. It's all incredibly sad - for him, his family, and also let's not forget for his colleagues, who had the desperately difficult & absolutely horrible job of having to report on such personal details re their former colleague tonight.
If a religious dilemma forcing HE underground was involved, as some have suggested, then that makes it even more of an unnecessary tragedy. Just awful all round really.

And very tough on colleagues who’ve spent 4-5 days dealing with being falsely accused of something we know know didn’t happen (the underage accusations).
Very sad, very grim and very grubby. And I’m talking about the Sun with the grubby part. I’ve heard there’s an undercurrent of homophobia about this too from some quarters, but not being on the socials don’t know if that’s true.
If more facts come to light and they change things then fair enough we can reevaluate, but for now I think you’ve got it spot on with tragedy. Nobody benefits.

Oh, so let's excuse all his sleaze and moral wrongdoings because he didn't commit a crime?
The mother was desperate to get him stop paying her son/daughter for lewd photos. Doesn't matter if it's a crime or not what he did.
The Sun has published that.......BBC has been similar things throughout the years re different cases. A media war. It will never change.
Edwards is also accused of breaking rules in 2021. Lockdown, we were told to stay home. You and others have been losing sh1t over any Tory member breaking the rules. If it's proven that Edwards broke the rules are you going to vilify him? No, you won't because he is BBC, eh?
I also can't remember you criticising Edwards or BBC for their harassment and attacks on Tate brothers. We don't know if they did what they are accused of. BBC though have been attacking them despite no evidence, no victims, no crime. They were just happy dragging Andrew Tate's name through the mud. And you keep waffling about The Sun and their lack of evidence.
BBC or The Sun......it's staggering how powerful the media are and how easy for them is to brainwash people. Left wing media or right wing media.....whichever.
If Boris Johnson or any Tory had been doing what Edwards is accused of would you be saying: 'Oh it's not a crime so it doesn't matter'?
