Early predictions for Sunderland next weekend? 14:05 - Jul 27 with 2921 views | Matt_Netherlands | I’m going 2-2. Think it will be a pretty tough game as Sunderland have recruited pretty well. We’ll do well to get a hard earned point. .
Early predictions for Sunderland next weekend? on 14:07 - Jul 27 with 2903 views | SuperKieranMcKenna | Likewise - score draw, which would be a very solid start to the season. 1-1 and lots of ‘concerns’ raised.
Early predictions for Sunderland next weekend? on 14:12 - Jul 27 with 2878 views | Vic | I honestly have no idea (no markers to gauge us against at this point). I'd happily settle for a draw of some kind, preferably with us scoring at least one goal.

Early predictions for Sunderland next weekend? on 14:19 - Jul 27 with 2857 views | BiGDonnie | It'll be a tough game, they lost Diallo who was key for them and it'll be interesting to see how the new signings settle in. A few foreigners bought in who can sometimes take a while to get used to English football. 1-2 Town but I'd take a draw if offered.

Early predictions for Sunderland next weekend? on 14:32 - Jul 27 with 2812 views | Mach_foreignBlue | 1-0 to us as long as our CB's keep Ross Stewart quiet and it will be a job for them.
Early predictions for Sunderland next weekend? on 14:56 - Jul 27 with 2761 views | TexacoCup | Most away games will be tough this season - first games often produce odd results, so anything is possible - more than happy if we get a draw
Early predictions for Sunderland next weekend? on 15:14 - Jul 27 with 2729 views | CarpyBlue | I'll say 1-1 but I do think we'll miss Harry Clarke at RB. Sunderland to score first and then a George Hirst equaliser midway through second half. Would take a draw on the opening day tbh, it's a tough game and I think we just need a solid start to take the pressure off us and get used to the higher standard in the Championship.
Early predictions for Sunderland next weekend? on 15:28 - Jul 27 with 2674 views | BigCommon | Sunderland will be a tough place to go for anyone this season. A team on the up and a big home crowd with , I dare say, some expectation, after their showing last season.... I just want to see a good performance against one of the better sides in the division.. Id take a draw. But honestly, nothing would surprise me under KM. We put in some crazy away performances back end of last season. So a win is not inconceivable...... 1-1 | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Early predictions for Sunderland next weekend? on 16:55 - Jul 27 with 2484 views | gainsboroughblue | Last time we played at Sunderland for a season opener, we lost 1-0 in 2001-02. No clue that day just what a miserable campaign that was going to be.

Early predictions for Sunderland next weekend? on 17:04 - Jul 27 with 2458 views | dirtyboy | Take a draw all day long....but my prediction is a tough start and 2-0 to Sunderland. No disgrace losing there, they only lost 7 times at home all season, likes of Sheff Utd, Swansea, West Brom, Burnley and Norwich. Lots of their games there last season were quite tight, they score plenty, but weren't the best at the back, so I think we'll find chances, but I suspect we'll take a fair few games to get up to speed, tough August, but will get a performance against Leeds (maybe not a win) but some confidence taking us in September that I think we can get some momentum in.

2-0 Sunderland at the moment don't think we are good enough at the back ,but we will have 60 % possession,
Early predictions for Sunderland next weekend? on 19:00 - Jul 27 with 2306 views | N2_Blue | Was thinking 1-1 but if Broadhead is fit think we may surprise them and catch them cold in 2-1 win. We are due a result there, is it just 1 win at SOL, I can’t remember any others than the 2018 2-0 win

"Lost only 7 times at home" That's practically half their home games surely? That isn't great for a team finishing 6th!
Early predictions for Sunderland next weekend? on 12:15 - Jul 28 with 1854 views | Rimsy | I'm expecting a good win, 3-1or so. Don't think there's any reason to fear anyone the way last season finished.

A really tough first game and a welcome back to the championship with a defeat. Many I’m sure will be up in arms but let’s be realistic, Sunderland are going to go well again and a 2-1 defeat if that’s how it finishes will not set the tone for the season ahead. A win over Bristol Rovers in the cup followed by a Home win against Stoke will be a decent start.
