They need to something around automated turnstiles that pretty much all clubs have now, to tag tickets to the person entering the ground and not the purchaser. I’m sure there’s be a solution. Or change the system entirely so there’s no incentive to bag tickets for points. |  |

I have no skin in the game, no axe to grind, etc, but just for info's sake, s. 63 of the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006 inserted into s. 166 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 a new offence: for an unauthorised person to sell a ticket for a designated football match, or otherwise to dispose of such a ticket to another person.
And in this offence, a reference to selling a ticket includes a reference to—
"(i)offering to sell a ticket;
(ii)exposing a ticket for sale;
(iii)making a ticket available for sale by another;
(iv)advertising that a ticket is available for purchase; and
(v)giving a ticket to a person who pays or agrees to pay for some other goods or services or offering to do so.”
So even making it known that a ticket is for sale (presumably even at face value) is a criminal offence. I'm all for clamping down on the touts, but that seems OTT. And also pretty unenforceable given the internet and all. I rather suspect, and certainly hope, that some common sense would be used when deciding whether it's in the public interest to prosecute, but it does mean that many of us commit this offence all the time. Grr...

This has to be a joke! What a load of absolute tosh!! All he is doing is providing people with information on available tickets with no profit being made! The police would not waste their time with this as he is doing nothing wrong!! He has a large following on Twitter so reposts for people with less followers and there is no harm in this. There really are some idiots about. It all leads back from most who can’t get away tickets as they haven’t received enough points last season to get them this season. The club bought this system in!
