We all have our favourite ever players players, Wark, Beattie, Crawford and so on. What about favourite players that weren't considered legends here (or in the game) but who left a lasting impression on you?

Ian Westlake would probably be mine, a very good player for Ipswich during the Royle era. Steve Palmer is another one who is a bit unsung, a very good player for Ipswich, why did we ever get rid of him?

Mine all seem to be fullbacks for some reason - Gus Uhlenbeek, then Taricco (maybe legend), then Clapham, then was it maybe Dan Burns after that?!

Shefki Kuqi.

His goal celebration was worth the entrance money alone. Shefki was a rumbustious player. Royle said he would chase a paper bag. He wasn’t wrong. Thunderous shot, got about the pitch inducing chaos and was the perfect foil for Darren Bent.

In Ipswich’s top ten players? Doubt he makes the top 100. I don’t care, I smiled every time he trundled onto the pitch.

Kevin O'Callaghan. I used to watch him warming up in front of me as I stood on my Coke crate in the West Stand. He always looked ready for action and had a trick or two. Rarely got a start though because of the superstars ahead of him.
