Wes Injured on 20:06 - Oct 11 by ChampionsofInnsbruck | You have to feel for him, that’s twice he’s been selected and twice he’s been hurt. You’d expect that he won’t get picked again as he seems to get hurt playing international games. |
Won't get picked again because he gets injured? Oh my days, what a stupid comment!

No idea what you get out of posting here, surely you can find another way to spend your time? Astrophotography is great, maybe take a look at that. SB
Wes Injured on 20:40 - Oct 11 with 2897 views | Vegtablue | Balls! Quick Google and Southampton's Bella-Kotchap dislocated his shoulder last October, missing 16 days. Sadly he dislocated his shoulder again in March, missing 19 days. Fulham's Palhinha suffered an acromioclavicular separation in July, which was thought to be a dislocation when he left the field, and he missed 24 days.

16 days, or even 24 days, not as bad as I feared to be fair. Hopefully that's as bad as it gets!

Definitely, fingers crossed it's a dislocation at worst and I posted that to reassure - 12 weeks or 6 months felt very long for professional footballers. Dan Burn fractured his collarbone 3 years ago and missed 38 days. Forest's McKenna fractures his collarbone in April and missed 44 days. I didn't see the injury and all fingers crossed it wasn't this. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

That doesn't sound advisable. 😅 I've looked at the fixture list and we play 5 league games in the next 6 weeks, so it's the least worst month to suffer an injury probably. We play 10 league games in the 6 weeks after the November international break, so everyone stay home for that one please. [Post edited 11 Oct 2023 21:05]

well it depends on the severity I think, Primoz Roglic dislocated his shoulder in a crash at the TdF last year, sat on a nearby chair, popped it back in himself, and rode his bike 29km to the finish. Then carried on riding in the race for the next 9 stages, including La Super Planche des Belles Filles, till he finally called it quits because his back, injured in the same crash as his shoulder, hurt so much he couldnt pedal. So all this 6 weeks, 24 days, whatever timescales, its totally dependent on the severity of the injury.

Cyclists are badass but I think the sport you play is the biggest factor in time away.

Speedway riders wind up breaking just about every bone you can dream up. Like downhill skiers, brave as hell. Looks more dislocation than collarbone to me, but what do I know.
Wes Injured on 22:23 - Oct 11 with 2191 views | RobTheMonk | Ahh shoulder injuries. Spent my 20’s in and out of a sling due to dislocations and subluxions. They had to open me up, replace some lost bone and stick a screw in to fix me (after two failed keyhole ops).
Wes Injured on 22:27 - Oct 11 with 2152 views | SlippinJimmyJuan | Gutting, really hope it's not as serious as it looked. We will obviously miss him, but time for Hutch and Jackson to fill that gap, with Aluko a good option off the bench.

That sounds b awful and very painful. Managed to tear a tendon in one shoulder doing some training stuff. Three months to heal naturally, but better than an operation, which was a serious consideration. The juggling had to be put on hold (not that I did any). Clobbered the other one with a bad wipeout skiing a few years before that. It was painful but I cracked on and and it eased. But a few weeks later acquired a frozen shoulder due to the damage. Boy was that painful and incapacitating. My physio bloke and exercise sorted me out, but it took a heck of a time. It’s amazing how difficult the basics of life like sleeping, shoe laces, dressing etc can be on one wing. Nothing compared to your experiences, but shoulder injuries are not funny. I really hope Wes’ is precautionary. He’s a very important player for us. I wish him well. [Post edited 11 Oct 2023 22:39]

Tyler Hamilton crashed and broke his collerbone on the first stage of the 2003 Tour de France. He continued riding in the race and was able to follow and attack Armstrong up Alpe d'Huez on stage 8. Later, he rode one of the Tour's most memorable feats, winning stage 16 with a 142 km solo breakaway, gaining two minutes over the field. For his stage win, Hamilton was awarded the Coeur de Lion prize (French for Heart of the Lion, the name of the cheese maker that sponsored the award), as the most daring racer of the stage. He finished 4th overall in the race. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2003/jul/20/tourdefrance2003.tourdefrance3
