Waterlogged pitch Friday? 19:40 - Oct 16 with 11241 viewsgtsb1966

Storm Babet set to hit the country and the forecast for Rotherham is awful with constant rain from Wednesday afternoon until kick off and beyond. I'll be surprised if the game goes ahead.

Good point, but I really hope you're wrong!

Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness.

Who on earth names these storms? If it's gonna be a stinker, it should be a Bertha or a Beryl.

Should be OK. Youd imagine being up and down from this league. They'd have had the money at some point to install a pitch tent like we do.

Even if they do try and protect the pitch with a tent etc, they’ll have to take it off prior to kickoff and it’s meant to absolutely tip it down on Friday.

Plus they’ll have to factor in safety conditions for people travelling to the match itself.

A heavy pitch waterlogged in places would certainly favour them hence if it is going to be bad I hope it does get postponed.

If it is anything like that we have to try and postpone as it wont suit us at all

We have to learn from that oxford match last year

If it is as bad as it is supposed to be, a postponement would be better for us. The conditions would turn it into a farce and they'd fancy it much more.

Noooo that's rubbish news. We don't want to be playing or driving in that obviously but another weekend without Town is unthinkable.

Rotherham's pitch is better than ever so all is not lost yet.

Have visions of it being this year’s Oxford fog game, with a late clearance from us getting stuck in a puddle and Rotherham s5ithousing a late win.

Their game vs Cardiff in March was abandoned at the beginning of the 2nd half due to a rain storm.

Mind you, Cardiff were winning, and they probably didn't need to leave the sprinklers on during half time.

That was another one of those weekends up here where it did actually rain for such a duration that even most of the Meadowhall Car Park was under water

I wouldn't say it was just bad drainage etc from the Rotherham pitch perspective but the amount of rain we had that weekend was unprecedented

Just remember its grim up Norf innit

Met Office predicted rainfall for that area is really not too bad. Some heavy showers over thursday and friday, but nothing really prolonged, so I think it will be fine.

Postponement would give Burns more time to recover as well.

Weather might not be quite so severe in Rotherham if latest radars are to be believed.

Worst of the rain on Friday is likely to be further east of Rotherham. Will make for a terrible drive up, mind.

I've just checked the local weather up here for tomorrow as well and that isn't looking too good to be honest ,

Looks worse than Friday - either way there's going to be a lot of rain

If it wasn't on Sky, I'd say it could be.

However being on Sky, surely they'll do everything they can to get this game on.

Rotherham will be keen to play us in these conditions as it levels it out...bit like Oxford and the fog.
