I love high end sandwiches but in reality my favourite is far from high end! Granary bread Kewpie instead of butter Mature cheddar Corned beef Beetroot Cucumber Ketchup Then pickled onion monster munch crushed inside

My favourites would either be a mature cheddar (grated not sliced) with nice chutney, or tuna mayo which I tend not to eat much but frankly is a top, top sandwich filling.

I saw Jacques Pepin make an onion and mayonnaise sandwich on YouTube and thought wow that looks awful, so I had to try it, and it’s amazing. White onion and good mayonnaise. Anyone around you while you eat it will hate your guts though.

Surely it can't be right to add mustard made by Coleman's of Norwich.
I have wrestled with my conscience over this many times but I have to tell you there is no better affordable English mustard than Coleman’s.

This is one of those questions where the answer depends on the day and the mood.
Today, some good quality ham sliced thickly, with sliced tomatoes and sorry, but probably between thick sliced white with real butter.
Sometimes a simple combo just works well enough that to add anything else just detracts, a bit like a good quality cheese and onion sandwich, it just doesn't need any more if the ingredients are good.
Just to prove my sandwich credentials, I had a pickled onion monster munch sandwich made with warburtons toastie last week. Good, but just fell short of the pinnacle I was expecting.
Putting any kind of crisps in a sandwich diminishes your sandwich credentials, but if it's possible to go worse then pickled onion Monster Munch would be it.
Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Coronation Chicken sandwiches and a love of celery. Clearly your a man of impeccable taste Dan. I'd dip the celery into a bit of salt and that sandwich would go perfectly with a pork an pickle pie or a Scotch egg. OK, I'm off to get some food
