Could be set to retire, poor bloke.

He's deleted his Instagram posts except the one of his injury 14 weeks ago and put up a glum looking story reading 'Thanks for all your support. I'll share an update later today.'

Would be such a shame, bags of talent that lad and genuinely one of the nicest blokes in football. He came to do a training session for my son at Bury Town about 9 years ago, and was the most down to earth fella you'd ever meet.

They are repairable, but even for a professional that is a year.

Indeed, though at 30 it could well have a significant impact his game.

I spoke to him on the train not long after he signed as he was wearing the ITFC training wear and asked him if he was youth product or new signing, very cool guy about it, he was very happy to be coming.

I would hate to see him retire, he's one I always wanted to see come home to Ipswich when possible and play here again in better times, he's an England international now and that's huge. If Evans had held on a season he'd have got double what he did for him, but Evans wasn't the brightest in the transfer market.

He's very PR thirsty. Hope he recovers soon, never nice to see players suffering serious injury.

If he does retire and he enjoyed his suffolk life. He'd be an excellent addition to the foundation set up.

Which is clever in all honesty. Setting the foundations for his career beyond football - no matter when that time comes.

Yeah, bright guy too, unlike a lot of footballers. I'm sure he'll do very well when he hangs up his boots.

I'm sure many of them are bright but dipped out of education too early. The ones who did the same but didn't get the pro-contract are a worry.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

In the case of Mings, I remember him being interviewed by Brenna while he was with us and remember thinking how he came across as an articulate, intelligent and very pleasant chap.

Tyrone comes across as a very astute young man. You only have to listen to his interviews to hear he is very articulate, which seems to imply that he will make a good career when his playing days are finally over.

You forget that he really wasn't here that long but he made a significant impact at the club and community.

It's a shame he has had a couple of really substantial injuries, he really has it all. Fingers crossed.

It'll be a same if he has to retire, but he can take a lot of positives out of his career. Played at the top level, played for his country. He'd probably have liked more honours and should have had more national caps, but sadly not to be.

Top fella though. If we had a top 5 of good blokes to play for us in the last 10 years, he'd be number one or very close. And for the future, that will be most important and stand him in good stead for the next stage of his journey (compare Ian Marshall's decline into idiocy and pointlessness).

Hmm not really sure how I feel about this. Feel like he’s trolled the villa fans and has done a bit of a “look at me” exercise today just to show his recovery process.

By all accounts he’s a top bloke but seems a bit weird what he’s done today.

Me too. Though I never had the OP and didnt have complications. I did get back playing with a deficient acl, though it has now given up properly and I have hung the boots up for fear of being crippled.
