Does anyone feel that the club should have a song that gives it an identity that no one else has.
We have a global sensation in Ed Sheeran who is devoted to the club and a long life fan. I absolutely love when fans from another club belt out their song with pride. Surely with Ed and his list of hits we could adopt one to be out own?!
Personally I think "Perfect" fits perfectly, excuse the pun.
Imagine 29,000 belting that out every game. Goosebumps! Sometimes the slow and emotional songs is what gets the players pumped and fans up for it.
Maybe the club or Ed himself could choose 2 or 3 songs and the fans could even vote. But perfect would be sick!!
I found a love, for me Darling, just dive right in and follow my lead Well, I found a girl, beautiful and sweet Oh, I never knew you were the someone waiting for me 'Cause we were just kids when we fell in love Not knowing what it was I will not give you up this time But darling, just kiss me slow Your heart is all I own And in your eyes, you're holding mine Baby, I'm dancing in the dark With you between my arms Barefoot on the grass Listening to our favourite song When you said you looked a mess I whispered underneath my breath But you heard it Darling, you look perfect tonight
I think it would be great. Arsenal sing a slow song before kick off. Think it’s called Angel. Sounds really good with a full stadium belting it out.
I like that song as it mentions Chapel Market and all my old haunts - trouble is, it reminds me that I'm an Islington boy who's supporting the wrong club. boo hoo sob.
Has anyone ever looked at their own postings for last day or so? Oh my... so sorry. Was Ullaa

Don't be so hard on yourself... supporting Ipswich isn't the wrong club.
Yes its a song most people already know the words to. A song ive always thought would be a good anthem for us is the rising by bruce springsteen, especially with our phoenix rising connections. I bet our american owners would love that and its a great song
EEJB is a fun song and its ours and it will always get a bit of an airing. But it is not a song that will ever be sung by a whole stand let alone the whole ground. It's not anthemic!
To have a song that generates an atmosphere it needs to be an anthem.

Anything sung in unison gets people going.
EEJB is ours. Every other suggestion thus far, sh1te.
I would prefer something fans know more than the first 4 words of and that those other words mean something in modern English too.
Off the boil city, never mind what the rest of the words are .. we'll have a scrummage instead. Seems appropriate for Grant Holt and Ashley Barnes ... not really for Town.
Was at Eintracht Braunschwieg in December watching them play Kaiserlautern.
Was a great game and in the 67th minute they have a song called "Deutscher Meister" that they sing for a minute to commemorate their only league title in 1967, about how they were champions of Germany.
Thought we could have a song for the 61st-62nd minute about how we were once Champions of England referencing Sir Alf and one for the 81st minute about how we were Champions of Europe referencing Sir Bobby.
It’s been said a thousand times before but it should be “ The Story of the Blues”

Agreed. The following, slowed down slightly... could repeat it twice if needed. Simples:
First they take your pride, then turn it all inside, and then you realise you got nothing left to lose. So you try to stop, try to get back up, and then you realise you're telling the Story of the Blues.
All you Blue Action boys (and girls), have a listen to Story Of The Blues , by Wah! Great chorus, and easy to remember. It would sound fantastic at Portman Road. Go and hear Wah! Play it live at John Peel centre, Stowmarket on Saturday night.
I'll be there , but as we keep having to 'come back' from a goal down at the moment, perhaps that would be a more appropriate choice.
