On the one hand you would him to want to score so it's understandable to be miffed if you're the designated penalty taker. On the other it is a bit moany and not a great look, you've just won 4-0. |
KMc said the deisgnated penalty taker wasn't on the pitch when it was given, so the designated taker can't be Chaplin (IIRC, he's missed a few).
It made perfect sense to let Ali take it - he'd earnt it, the game was won and it was a good opportunity to let a young striker, new to the club and keen to get of the mark score his first goal for us. |  |

He will get over it. It was the right decision and Davis was right to let Sam decide. That Chaplin was hacked off about it was fine - you want players to step up like that. Chaplin is a great character, passionate and a very good player. Nothing wrong with that.

Yeah. Chaplin lost it to Evans last season after a few misses. Broadhead took over after Evans injury and this season it was Hirst. [Post edited 15 Feb 2024 11:46]
