Am not looking forward to this game

They have won 9 of their last 11 at home

If they beat us which is a possibility could cement the probability of us meeting them in the play offs which I think could be a disaster.

That music they play if they score would also send me over the edge

The other dilemma I have is I have never seen us win in 11 visits starting with the Fa Cup game in 1983

My son is desperate to go but I have told him we probably need to stay at home and watch on TV

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING WE CAN DO BEFORE NORWICH IS WIN THE NEXT 3

That’s a month away yet.

Just concentrate on ourselves and our next game.

What will be, will be.

Yes a month away but only 3 games away!!!

I accept your logic if we don’t go up I will be able to accept that

But if Norwich stop us from going up THAT WILL FINISH ME

Am nervous. Very nervous.

After the one one up there when Chambers got that header and they went up the other end to score, I said I’ll never go to Carrow Road again.

Feel like I can’t even watch it on the telly.

Nice long walk and check result when I get in I think.

True story, Gary Geen from Chantry, his dad Mark, massive Man City fan. He sat over Chantry park with tins when MCFC played that playoff game was Gillingham. Went home to see they’d won

Imagine after the season we’ve had, they end up going up via the playoffs.

We’d never hear the end of it, even when we win the Champions League in 2027 :)

We are where we are because we are a very good championship side. They are where they are because they are inconsistent. Like WBA, they can be good or they can be very bad.

We will go into that game in the top two and we will win.

Because Norwich have no history they never talk about it

They concentrate on the present and the last 14 years

I guess we would do the same.

But if they went up and we didn’t I woul emigrate to Outer Mongolia

That depends on which Town team turns up on that day. Play like our win at home v Hull we will win. Play like what we did yesterday, or v Rotherham/Bristol et al and we will be spanked. We aren’t very consistent with our performances either, it’s just we have a couple of attacking substitutions to throw at teams tiring in the 2nd half that we win. When was the last time we had a convincing win? Maybe v Millwall which is one every 3 or 4 games. Our defence for most games look like rabbits in the headlights everyone the opposition runs at them or high crosses are whipped in. I am not looking forward to the game tbh.

I have a glass half full approach.

Meet them in the play offs preferably at Wembley and finally end the last 20 years of poor results against them.

I am going to be away that week. Not sure whether to find a pub to watch it or look afterwards.

I have a feeling they are relishing the game now

Nobody in this division is likely to "spank" us.

Play like we did yesterday and we might lose narrowly at worst. This all sounds like overdramatising the result - Nodge spanked an abject Rotherham they've flirted with 6th and when those around them have won they find themselves dropping out pretty sharpish.

I think that being our 5th loss in so long is the hallmark of consistency. You're talking like you want robotic performances, if anything the ones you're criticising show you can never count us out.

That's why yesterday was unlike us.

We are both in form. It's just the context of our respective situations that makes us more nervous. They lost the other night but they can afford to lose one in three games because a defeat isn't as costly as one is for us due to the consistency required to maintain their position.

I think the December game has hurt our confidence as fans. We really just needed to get this monkey off our back of not beaten them for so long. They are are biggest rivals but have also been kryptonite going back decades.

Even in the 99-00 season, we took one point of them. Same in 98-99 when we finished well above them. And before that we usually traded home wins over the other, the same was generally the case under Magilton. Back in the 80's, they knocked us out of a cup competition 3 out of 4 seasons.

The only thing is that they have not beaten any of the big 4 in that run.

Let’s face it. We are all in a completely different league to the other 20 teams this year.

How many games against the top 6 have we won? Is it one out of seven?

One thing's for certain, sport - we'll be MILES ahead of them when we play them whatever happens between now and then, and we'll still be miles ahead of them after we've played them.

(I'm talking points and also state of club.)
