In Ashton’s interview with Stuart Watson he said the club was audited by the Premier League and Portman Road was found to need 15 essential upgrades/updates before it can host Premier League games. Any ideas what they could be? Health and Safety stuff? More room for cameras and press?

Flood lights will be the big one I think. Outside of that, drug testing facilities, VAR facilities, additional broadcasting space, additional away fan allocation so may need to look at changing segregation, there’s apparently a second storey going on top of the security space above the tunnel which will be a major job. Think it’ll be a busy summer between this and the works at the training ground!

The dugouts were made to Premier League standard when they were upgraded in the summer of 2022.

Got a feeling one or two may be security related too - mainly player security. For example, an improved level of security presence between the fans and the pitch. Do we even have room for people to sit facing the fans at the front of the Britannia and Cobbold stands?

What's wrong with the floodlights? they work perfectly well.
Need disco lights for before kick off… mandatory rule.
In all seriousness, ours will need to be c.20% brighter. You can tell a big difference when you watch a PR night game on TV versus a game somewhere like the emirates.

That is one thing I’ve noticed when I was PL games on TV, stewards come on to the pitch at HT and FT and stand in certain positions, plus when subs are made stewards down the front all have to stand.

The Planning Applications for some of this stuff are going to have to go in soon. Likely to be an 8 week turnaround for the applications to be approved doesn't leave long to get some of it done.

Dare I ask why they require TWO TV studios? Maybe it's just cost they can...
