To be fair, first thing at work today a proper United fan stopped me and was poking about with what I thought about McKenna's situation.
They were very much defensive about their "social media fans" not representing the views of proper fans. Made me think they'd be keen to have him a bit like people who wanted Hurst here. | |

Easy to say in hindsight, and managers have stepped up to the ‘big boys’ and being knocked back down again pretty quickly, it’s just a different ball game managing a big team, with egos out of control, clueless fan bases, owners who haven’t got a clue about football on power trips.
Only the very few elite can sustain success at big club.

How do you know this one is coming from his representatives? They said on Talksport on Simon Jordan's show that a source at United had said there'd been talks, this is very likely Sky hearing the same or rehashing another story. |  |

The problem with this theory is that it assumes Man Utd won’t appoint their next Arteta, Guardiola or Klopp who has a fantastic season next year and Kieran’s chance will have gone for a decade | |

His dream is to manage them, and such dreams are built on optimism and all that goes with that. Reality isn’t the stuff of dreams. How it unfolds, time can only tell.
Bit, if it is indeed offered, he’ll jump. Youthful exuberance to mix with his dream. He’ll get little or no quarter from their dressing room, media, fans etc. They won’t tread lightly. He might know that. But.
We can only hope that if it is to happen, it will happen soon as this whole business is beginning to reek of McK being bigger than our club. He isn’t and never will be. Notwithstanding his great success here. He’s got great talent. But his gaze is elsewhere.
I had hoped he’d stay and take a chance on us, but we’re in against much bigger fish now.
Anthony Barry, Graham Potter, AN Other. We may be having that discussion next week with names and names and who is who.
