Some of the fringe 'journalists' 17:39 - May 30 with 2786 views | wkj | still seem to think we're chasing Broja. It would be interesting if the news develops that we're lining up a double swoop (Broja and Hutch) for a Chelsea who can't afford to be too precious about what they take for players. Question is, if this was a rumour based in reality - how much would we be lining up for the deal, 30...40m? Crazy money. [Post edited 30 May 2024 17:43]

Surely the club wont be that daft and potentially tick off the players who got them promoted. Is he that good? He is any better than what we currently have? Would love to see the club go overseas for players. Brighton have done it successfully, why cant we!

The only overseas priority we have is to sign a Dutch player. If we start the season without a flying dutchman it wont quite feel right.

That's why I keep saying Joël Piroe. I think he would be great in our system.

"Would love to see the club go overseas for players. Brighton have done it successfully, why cant we!" I think, being fair, the club have tried to do this but either the wage structure hasn't fitted in with what we are doing or the background checks into personality haven't fitted with the squad. If we go international, and I think we will eventually, it has to be the right player in all aspects, we can't have anyone who won't 100% buy into the squad system that McKenna favours.

Personally I think what got us through the championship won't get us through the prem as well. That togetherness is great but you really do need another level of technical ability all round the pitch. Just as an example.. chappers. Lovely player. Great bloke. But hutch was a prime example of how much he improved certain attacking phases of play and his high pressing game was better than chappers. Chappers I think will be around it but I don't see him being a starter and I think the same can be said for broady. BTW this isn't a reply really about Broja but more to your point about ticking off current players.

Just a sprinkle of quality to the starting X1. Some better strength on the bench.

Kieffer was on £40k pw, and apparently we were paying a lot of it. High wages is the reality of the Prem.

According to the Bournemouth website, Kieffer Moore was on £18,374 pw.

Not according to reports at the time. I'd be surprised if the Bournemouth website declares staff wages?!

Brexit has put the kibosh on getting young players but there could be value in older more experienced players.

I’m sure we will look overseas - in fact MA says we already are but no one who fits the bill has come about yet. I reckon character has been incredibly important as the squad and ethos has been built - and that may not be something so easy to assess in foreign players (Look what happened when GB brought in a couple). It’s something that will come with time - this time next year I reckon.

So far, we've been linked with Sessignon, Miguel Almiron, Zian Fleming & Edo Kayembe and Phil hasn't poo-pooed any of them despite most of them being agent placed rumours i'd suggest.
Some of the fringe 'journalists' on 19:32 - May 30 with 1812 views | bluestandard | I can’t remember when exactly, but I remember watching an interview with Raheem Sterling where he was asked who the fastest sprinter at the club was and he said something like ‘definitely Armando, and it isn’t even close’ or something similar. I know you need more than just pace, but with that attribute you’re always going to be in the conversation.
