Don't think Bishop is as good as many make out...... but surely he's a L1 player. Think he's done OK with Lincoln and surely too good for Col U.
I don't understand the affection towards Bishop. We all got excited when he was 18 and he injected some attacking flair in a McCarthy team where there was 8 defensive minded players in the team and he had some license to run with the ball. I don't think it's just his injury history - he just wasn't good enough and his end product wasn't there, too. 4 or 5 goals in over 100 appearances ( I think). All he ended up with us was having a few cameos where he beat a couple.of defenders and then got brought down. He stayed too long with and I think as an academy player that can hinder his development and be over-protected. If he's become a more rounded midfielder at Lincoln where he can put in a shift and do the dirty stuff, then well done and good luck to him. |  | | |

Bishop was one of our better players, but definitely was blighted by injuries.
Would have a good set of games, just start to look like he's hitting his stride, then be out for a lengthy period. Then you're coming back and having to start again.
Always rated him, great with the ball and ultimately, played in a team which really didn't play to his strengths and still doesn't. |  | | |

In my defence, at the time, this wasn't happening 😂 multiple first hand contacts had told me it was nonsense (direct quote!)
Haven't had the full story yet, but seems like Charlton fell through, MK offer never came in and he wanted something closer to home.
