serious question…what is the nonsense that you are referring to..?I honestly haven’t got a clue what prompted them to sling their hooks?…

Tend to find that when people ‘have a break’ (and get banned) from here they still view it a lot of the time, that’s why they get their accounts removed to resist the temptation to post. Sure they’ll be back soon enough.

I still find it funny that adults need breaks from social media. Surely just use it for what it is, a laugh and chance to piss about.

Like I said on the similar SB thread, some seem to take it all far too seriously. It's nice to have somewhere to discuss the footy - and other matters - with fellow Ipswich fans of course. If you're not enjoying it then switch off for a few days, fine. But why the need for a formal departure?

I was just thinking the same thing. It’s kind of sad that some people feel the need to take a break by closing their account. Surely better to not be so obsessive that you feel you need to engage all the time.

I reckon because this place is an ingrained habit, so taking away the temptation easier for them. They may be too busy rather than too worked up. And it would be a silent break if it wasn't for the detective work of other posters aha. Hopefully everyone reports back for the start of the season, we're at least three good posters lighter now by my count.

Herbie gone? (n/t) on 12:41 - Jul 4 by Keno | Thats a real shame TWTD isnt the place it once was and we poorer for the loss of recent departees |
"TWTD isnt the place it once was" Bearing in mind the rampant sexism, racism & some homophobia there used to be on here years ago, I'd say that's a good thing (tho there's occasionally a bit still, it quickly gets slapped down by other posters now). Plus one departure a few months ago has resulted in significantly fewer circular political arguments that led to nothing but the same groundhog day tedious rows. [Post edited 4 Jul 2024 14:11]

Three? Oh yeah, Fishers should be allowed back really. Served his time. A new era.

I think you should try it to see for yourself what the benefits are Social media is pretty notorious for being a time sink and an unproductive one at that. And also addictive. I don't see the problem with people deciding to take breaks. Best thing I did was knock twitter and all that crap on the head. This place still scratches the itch (and honestly I should be on here much less often, but my excuse is I mostly use it to pass the time during really dull and pointless online meetings I still have to attend).

Has anyone announced it? The only two threads I've seen have been other people noticing.

Think he means formal as in, account getting removed. If the accounts weren’t removed people wouldn’t really notice.
