I was up in Liverpool a couple of weeks ago and stopped off at Sandhills, the nearest stop on Merseyrail, to take a look at it from the station.
It is certainly not far off completion from the outside.

Even worse, it is actually a wastewater treatment plant, and on the odd day you can tell by the smell. Albert Dock is and Bramley-Moore Dock was until the stadium and other developments were announced/progressed. | | | |

I went up to see it - from the outside at least - a few days ago as I was in Liverpool for work.
I am not that impressed, it does little for me. I am an architecture critic and tutor as my dayjob, so guess I can be more critical than most, but i find the boxy brick "oooh, there are redbrick warehouses nearby" just very lazy and half hearted. The space-age roof on top doesn't allow much for future expansion or adaption, and aesthetically reads more like something from 15 years ago stylistically.
The whole area is a huge regeneration area - for good and bad - and as mentioned in the thread the UNESCO listing has now been lost (not because of this stadium per se, more the approach of the very dodgy former mayor to the whole waterfront area).
I will withhold complete thoughts on the stadium until i get to see it inside, as I'd not review a building I hadn't actually physically read rather than just seen images of, but I find it a bit meh so far. Certainly, if you get to go inside in the 25-26 season your walk from the station to it won't be a thing of beauty, passing through the rather hotchpotch and incoherent LIverpool city centre, then the neoliberal privatised hellhole of Liverpool One, then around the city main road to the Liver Buildings, and along the long pre-regeneration waterfront which has some moments of dilapidated but impressive beauty, some wonderful midcentury brutalist buildings and infrastructure, and a lot of dire trading estate sheds (though one has an excellent brewery in which I recommend stopping at en route for ap it stop). |  | | |
