Would be amazed if this happened but would be an incredible signing for us.

As a loan would be very open to this. Would be a substantial outlay on wages but low risk being a loan. Again one of the more unlikely ones I’d have thought

Berge and Sheaf have been mentioned - would love to get both. Tessman another though would prefer to sign him and rather than it being a loan. Not sure if that would be possible, though.

Wasn’t a bad suggestion given he had failed at W.Spam. Next step would be a bottom half prem side. Working under McKenna could be win win for us and Kelvin.

Has the whiff of a Ross Barkley to Luton success story

Think I'd much rather have Ugochukwu, sadly. Phillips' career has stagnated (peaked?) and his off-field attitude at West Ham was publicly called into question. Not the kind of character I think our dressing room needs.

Think it depends a bit on the player's attitude coming into it. Axel has talked about the "distraction free environment" being a positive for him as he gets his football back on track. If that's what Phillips wants to do then it might be a good place to do it.

Well, yes. I don't think McKenna would have him unless those kind of assurances were given.

There is something in this. Whether it happens is another matter, of course.

What’s he reported to have done then? Everything I’ve read in the past has suggested he’s a really nice, quiet lad from a close family.

Absolutely would be worth a go and could see McKenna getting the best out of him again. Would assume he's incredibly far out of our structure, though.

Reporting on Sky news like it’s just us, no mention of anyone else. Maybe this is further down the line than we are aware.

Really surprised to hear there's something in this.
Leeds era Phillips would a coup and the perfect foil for Morsy.
Lost his way a bit, could definitely be worth a look. He will want to prove a lot of people wrong and I really like the other comparison with Barkley.
I was also appreciative of the "schemer" reference in your report!

Phil reporting Fulham and the Everton also interested.

In that company I would say we'd be ahead of the Toffees but behind Fulham.

My concern would be he's a bit like Morsy and tends to be a bit rash in the tackle. So may get situations where if one isn't suspended the other is. Dob't see Phillips being a box to box type and although I may be wrong he's not a replacement for Loungo.
