You'll never guess who Phillips agent is (and Hamers for that matter)....
Things are getting sexy again!
In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Think I'd much rather have Ugochukwu, sadly. Phillips' career has stagnated (peaked?) and his off-field attitude at West Ham was publicly called into question. Not the kind of character I think our dressing room needs.
Both on loan would be a good use of resources imo.

Phil reporting Fulham and the Everton also interested.
In that company I would say we'd be ahead of the Toffees but behind Fulham.
Phil would have to correct me but the interested clubs bit came from the Manchester Evening News reports in the OP. Obviously Phil has asked about and confirmed our interest. Sky never reported other clubs involved. Fulham would be a difficult one to compete with but perhaps our interest is stronger. City will be keen to get their house in order so they can get a striker in now.

Yes, other clubs came from MEN. Had heard of Town interest a while back but very vague at that stage.

My concern would be he's a bit like Morsy and tends to be a bit rash in the tackle. So may get situations where if one isn't suspended the other is. Dob't see Phillips being a box to box type and although I may be wrong he's not a replacement for Loungo.
That was my thinking re a Luongo replacement, Phillips has always been more defensive in my eyes (but we may need that). I had been toying with the idea that Oxlade Chamberlain might be the perfect Luongo role player, but he could be the other way around, does he have a strong enough defensive game to mimic Mass.

Is this something that could be concluded for Phillips this week, Phil? Or will this be one that rumbles on until end of Aug?
I reckon it might drag on. I would guess the agent might want a biger fish than us, or the other two clubs mentioned if possible, so might take a while.

He's just the kind of calibre player we should reserve our Prem loans for. If he's fit and is willing to come under KM's umbrella with a good attitude I'd take him in a heart beat. Sure, it would be a bit of a gamble, but I'd suggest any established Prem player and an England international not so long ago, who's willing to come to us is going to be the same. Make it happen Phil.
