Too much content? 16:58 - Aug 21 with 3438 viewsDJR

I first started using TWDT in earnest and listening to Blue Monday and Kings of Anglia podcasts during lockdown because there was little else to do.

These days there is so much content (newspapers, radio, podcasts, Town TV, TV generally) that I find I just don't have the capacity or inclination to consume that much of it, and I limit myself to TWTD, the Star, the odd podcast from Blue Monday and Kings of Anglia, and Final Whistle on Radio Suffolk on the way home from games.

This post was prompted by yet more content, Town Rewind, but I am wondering whether any others feel the same as me.

I've certainly not watched/read everything that reaches my inbox for the last couple of years really, so yes, I am probably very much the same as you - there's only so much content I can actually digest. We are spoilt for choice, and TWTD provides a lot of the main bits I do take in, as well as the engagement with the forum obviously. I don't even tend to watch all the pre/post match interviews, but pick and choose as and when I get time to view or read things.

I understand the sentiment but as someone who drives alot for work - the more audio content the better for me.

Blue Monday are really good at doing a range of shows that do not crossover in topic, especially with their variety of hosts.

Having something different but interesting is a big plus for me!

Its a choice, not compulsory.

I listen to KOA and Blue Monday. That's it in relation to Ipswich.

Great to have so much choice. I guess if you listen to all the podcasts it would become extremely repetitive.

I think Blue Monday are great but they have put out 18 videos since 5 August and I have ended up listening to none, when I might have listened to 2 or 3 a week last season.

For me, less is more, but I realise there is gold in them thar hills, especially with the large fanbase of other teams who are likely to dip in. And I don't drive a lot like you.

I think you just consume what you want, as and when. Some weeks I listen to nothing but Town stuff, sometimes I go a few weeks without doing so. The big issue is the pretenders who came along after, producing sh1t content and attention seeking.

If you try to include them, you’ll get a varied diet in terms of quality but not in terms of information as there are finite stories and angles to discuss each week.

I am out a lot, either running or walking the dog so I can rattle through the pods really quickly. That's in addition to political podcasts and music podcasts. So I'm happy there is so much Ipswich content to listen to.

I see that the club has dropped it's official podcast. I don't realy think it worked as a pod.

I subscribe to TownTV and watch some of it and some of the Bluemonday content.

Life’s a Pitch? Got tired of it last season. I’ll see if it improves this season but I’m really not interested in Butcher gassing on about drinking in the 70s and beating people up in car parks. Having a past is not exclusive to old footballers! Chambers is proving to be an excellent tv pundit. He is insightful and easy to listen to and I’ll see if he makes a difference.

How much time I spend on it really depends on how busy I am but on reflection, probably too much. Still it’s nice to have a choice. It’s a far cry from crumbs in the papers, the match day programme, Green Un and Shoot!

Blue Monday has been wheeling them out because they committed to transfer podcasts and theres been a lot of transfers. Generally just prefer the match content.
Alex Griffin gets the word from the street well, he had a quiet summer, wisely.

TWTD is great got back into the habit, you never know what signing news there is each morning or evening.

Gone off Twitter, but occasionally look.

Lifes a pitch specials last season especially Ray Crawford were good.

Not everyone needs a podcast. The main point of a podcast is regularity.

My preferred method of obtaining ITFC-related content is to have a good old chat in my local pub - The Neutered Vaquita - with the sitcom actors Norman Eshley and Ken Kitson.

I look back to when KM was in the middle of negotiations and the social media content.

Much of it wild speculation, much of it utterly ridiculous and pointless debate, much of it ill informed yet presented as if people were ITK.

I took the view that very little content/comment was informed and so switched off from most of it. Consuming it wouldn't make much odds.so figured I'd wait out the situation knowing worrying about it wouldn't make much difference.

Pretty much the same with our transfer window. What appeared to be a slow window has come together nicely. Yet much of the comment has been little more than wannabe ITKs or people publicly expressing their anxiety or insecurity.

For five minute update, all good. But chasing all the podcasts and Twitter rumours etc. is very much a waste of time imho. If there's an informed poster I'll go out of my way to read their opinions/posts (Something Blue) but most of the footie talk am happy to give a wide berth.

Choice innit. Greatest thing about podcasts is that you can pause them and fast-forward them through stuff you're not interested in ( ie women's football). BM is very good, but wonder if they'll do too much and thin out the quality.
KOA used to be my favourite in the pre-paywall Andy and Stu days, but I find it unwatchable these days. I hate being rude to a nice genuine Suffolk boy but Ross isn't a journo and find him irritating to listen to. Needs some speech lessons and to stop with his stupid facial expressions.

It’s a bit overdone for me. At the end of the day there’s only so much you can say about us losing 2-0 to Liverpool or who we might sign. I may watch the odd video by another team’s fan as that can provide an interesting perspective

Like you, it’s just here, really. I prefer reading to podcasts and video anyway. I like Jayess’s blog as that’s actually well-written and more about being a fan.

I can't be bothered with podcasts. I do follow twtd, and subscribe (paid) to The Athletic and Swiss Ramble (football finance), making good use of both.
On the rare occasion I have sampled a podcast, I have found them opinionated and ill-informed, or, maybe worst of all, just dull. 30 mins of audio / video can be read in just 5 minutes.

I just listen to KOA, I gave up on Blue Monday in their first season when they were reviewing a match neither went to, but I appreciate it's grown since then but I don't have the time to add another podcast to my routine.

I think you just have to be ruthless and just listen/read/watch your favourites whatever they may be. It's better to have too much content available than not enough

TWTD and Blue Monday is enough for me.

And I quite like watching a few vlogs on a Sunday morning.

Oh and I guess MOTD now when we win as dont usually bother watching highlights otherwise!!!
