From your youth? Don’t have to be iconic as such just things that stuck in your mind. In no particular order:
The Crossroads motel burning down Ken Barlow and Mike Baldwin throwing hands over Deirdre. The firemen’s strike of the mid to late 70s and the “green goddess” engines being used The news reports of the two British soldiers who mistakenly drove into the IRA funeral parade.

I remember both 9/11 and Diana's death. In particular with Diana's death, I recall being very annoyed there were no cartoons on in the morning for me to watch.
It's hard to think of much that tops those two really.
Another one I did miss but I've heard lots about was that fake ghost documentary the BBC did with Craig Charles and Parkinson that lots of people thought was real.

I recall not listening to the news properly and telling my parents that Diana had died stepping on an unexploded landmine!
I also remember seeing the plane hit the second tower live on TV, didn't seem real at the time, though I wasn't really a child by then.
My most memorable childhood TV moment remains Gavin Johnson's header at Anfield on 1992.

Ron Pickering at the end of We Are The Champions .... "Away you go", as all the kids would dive into the swimming pool to play on the inflatables and other swimming pool equipment.

I vividly remember the British soldiers being dragged from their cars at the IRA funeral. However, I would dispute your use of the term "mistakenly". It was one of those things that made a real impression on me and has stuck with me even 40(?) years later.
Another incident that remains imprinted in my mind was the fire at Bradford City. I seem to remember Grandstand cutting across to it and seeing it unfold in real time - not sure if that's my memory playing tricks.
Both incidents very harrowing to watch and comprehend as a teenager
The Bradford Fire was truly horrific.
The soldiers at the funeral incident was shocking in its savagery and the way it played out on a Saturday lunchtime. Bombings and killings were so common during the troubles yet that one stands out. As did the Hyde Park bombing where the horses got killed and maimed along with soldiers.

Some kid phoning up Saturday Superstore to call Matt Bianco "a bunch of w*nkers" always comes to mind.
Also, Challenger space shuttle disaster, Live Aid 86, the very first episode of EastEnders, Hilda Ogdens last scene in Corrie. Very moving.
The scene where she unpacked Stan's things after he died in hospital and she broke down on seeing his glasses was incredibly emotional viewing. Jean Alexander was an incredible actress.

I think that's the scene I'm thinking of actually. Her very last scene was a little party they threw for her in the Rovers.

Very strong memories of this, I was 6 and Clare primary school stopped working and we all just watched on Tv
The bus I went to school on was late that morning (not an uncommon occurrence) and they had the TV on in the room where latecomers and those excused assembly were put. Always remember the loud "clang" as part of the supporting steel framework collapsed just as it broke surface.

Ghostwatch!
That was ace, remember watching it live and it scared me a lot. Pipes was a very bad man.
I got rinsed the first Towun game after Diana's death for talking through the minutes silence.
