My tip would be park at a train station and take the train to Farmer station. Free train travel is available from Haywards Heath (amongst others) with your match ticket.

Check out the Brighton and H albion website for details of other stations included in the scheme.

Gatwick

Yeah, but not the short stay. I drove round and round it for 30 mins last Saturday before I found a space. Expensive too.

Whatever you do, don't park in the one near the ground that you need to go under a narrow railway bridge to get into. Took me over an hour and a half to escape last time.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

I’ve parked near ground and also trained in. Both are sh*te after the game.

Think the train option was slightly quicker, taking only an hour to leave the station rather than the 1.5hr car park.

Get train from Lewes

You could park in Brighton ( v expensive) or Lewes (get there early, 1230ish). Or park at stations further away.

To avoid queues after the game, you will need to leave around 80th min, or 85th and run. Or, wait for a while. Queue generally dies down an hour or so after the game.

I've started using this app and basically paying a few quid to park in someone's drive. Saves having to drive round for ages looking for a space. You might be a bit late to find somewhere for this weekend, so maybe something for the future? https://www.yourparkingspace.co.uk/?msclkid=808c27065f2d19ca00d941e7ace28cd1&

Stanmer Park has a car park just as you come into it, on the left near kids playground/cafe.
Might be spaces if you get there early. Just across the road from the Amex.

Coldean is also a possibility if you don't mind 15 min walk to ground.
Head for Ruby Pub, there's residential free parking behind there.

Lewes is ideal. Station car park is pretty big.
On-street parking around Southover Grange is close to station. Hit and miss though.
Bill's cafe for pre-match food.

Anyone got a spare ticket?
Can meet you in Lewes for guided tour!

I think it's hilarious 😂

And its a valid suggestion there's a train line to Brighton from there and then to Falmer, and NatExpress buses do the same route.

I just looked at the Coldean option but Brighton council on match days have parking restrictions and a permit is required. So Lewies it is then and the station queues.

I go to Brighton quite often for the Casino, there are two multi story car parks in the marina that are free to park everywhere else in Brighton parking is extortionate, from the marina there are buses to Falmer which is about 10-15 minutes by bus or get a taxi.

Park and ride is best option if you’re driving. One just off the a23 and one at the uni. Free parking and then free bus to the ground. It will be busy afterwards but not as busy as the train.
Went to the Brighton v Crawley match in the league Cup the other week and the trains were shocking.
They don’t lay extra on and it’s all kettled and funnelled on to the platforms. Game finished at 9.50, got back to Crawley at quarter to one.
If you are going by train sometimes you’re better going to lewes and then back north from there. Falmer to Brighton is definitely busier.

Defo park north of ground like Haywards Heath as queue after game will be much smaller than those heading south into the City. Also you'll be parked maybe an hour away from all south options at that time post match. 2²
