Clearly better to have the option of a proper keeper in that once in a million situation than stick a youngster who isn't considered ready on there.

It came out after the team was sent that Clarke Was starting instead of Hutch but then obviously it’s been changed again for Chaplin. |
With the numbers out, and the rapidly-changing picture, hopefully it's some sort of sickness bug rather than an incredibly contagious case of hamstring-knack. | |

I can't see what's to love about Delap dropping to the bench and missing both Morsy and Hutchinson. Hoping this team can get a result but it is clear we are weakened. |
I'm more chilled out about it than you it seems.

I think we 'only' paid £8m for him.
I don't mind the signing but he should have been made to work his way into the line up rather than played at the first opportunity.
Edit: In fairness, it could be that Woolfenden is one player who's not 100% this week, as I am surprised Clarke is playing from the start as he's coming back from a long term absence. [Post edited 26 Oct 2024 14:18]

You say it’s a worry, on paper it’s a Sweden international and not too long back England regular. They’re probably our 2 best paid central midfielders at the club, not that it means they’re the best pairing, but a couple of months ago it wasn’t unthinkable that it might ultimately be our partnership this season.
I’m more worried about the back 4 tbh. |  | | |
