ETH gone 12:15 - Oct 28 with 5243 viewsBlueMoon

Let's hope this doesn't reignite any speculation for KM. That would be all we need. Presumably the position we find ourselves in currently (temporarily) won't have enhanced his chances of being in the running for the Utd job.

I think our league position is going to be the factor that saves us - if we were punching well above our weight and were mid table I think there's be a much stronger linking - but as we stand I don't think they are going to give KM any serious consideration.

If I were them I'd be going after Ruben Amorim or Thomas Frank.

If it does, it does. It was exhausting enough following it in the summer without doing it now when we are more worried about starting to win games.

The club can't do anymore in terms of securing his future here. For what it's worth, if anything, he is less likely to go there now than in the summer. Its the domino effect that may get us though, depending where Utd recruit from.

Agree Man Utd probably will go in a different direction at this stage hopefully. Not so worried about the 'domino effect' as will be a hell of a buy-out clause and he's already on one of the highest managerial salaries in the league, so not sure he'd be top of the list of a Brentford, say, given what they'd have to shell out to get him...

Fair point. I guess McK's stock hasn't improved any (in the wider footballing world) so on his salary plus buy out clubs may think twice.

I also think he'd want to see if he can get things going here this season.

Out of our hands anyway. I'm not going to stress about it like I did in May.

That logic normally applies, but then Bayern took Vincent Kompany after everything he did (or didn't do) at Burnley last season.

I'd imagine Radcliffe will go for a 'name' though so McKenna will be way off their list.

Kompany got the Bayern job because he is Kompany.

My United supporting mate seems to think they're in talks with Xavi, which would tick a lot of boxes. I think KM would be miles down the list at present.

I do however think that if Frank moves on we'll face serious interest from Brentford.

Hasn't he said he's taking a year off? Or is that just a "well, I was but you've thrown £8m a year at me, so..."

I'm not so sure to be honest - he's been astute in the transfer market, tweaked his approach for the Prem, and whilst he's not won yet, a lot (not all granted) of our performances have shown we are adapting to the Prem.

Although that must have been partly because Kompany was a "top, top player", which does seem to count for a lot with some people. Hence Zidane is now favourite among some Man U fans.

In that case I expect Lambert to be in line for the job.

I think the problem, if you call it that, is that they need to get a ā€œ top classā€ manager ( not coach) in order to control the egos of the ā€œstar playersā€.
On that basis I don’t think KM scores high on their wish list.
I hope.
A few more years if not with us then a ā€œbig teamā€

Prem recruiting departments will be looking at the statistical analysis of our side in the prem this season and we're bottom for any meaningful metric that they'd look at to see how McKenna is adjusting our squad and tactical set-up to suit.

His stock certainly hasn't improved thus far. I think we may start to see some more significant changes to the way we set up in games moving forwards and if that pays off then of course, his name will be mentioned in these circles again.
